  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 62 mins

    Southampton 2-2 Burnley

So unlucky that. And it's got Southampton going again. Stuart Armstrong beats a man on the edge of the area and lets rip once more but Nick Pope makes a flying stop this time.

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 61 mins

    Southampton 2-2 Burnley

    Something just like that!

What a wonderful move from Southampton. They find Danny Ings inside the area, he comes back out into midfield, it's squared to James Ward-Prowse and he hits an absolute cannon of a drive from 20 yards.

It takes a touch, beats Nick Pope and thwacks off the crossbar and down. But not in - the magic watch says so anyway. Saints think it's a goal but it looked to bounce on, not over the line...

It's always the way after such a high-octane first half. We've tailed off a bit here, in a lull. Could do with something to get the game going again.

Those naysayers suggesting Saints need a new owner need to consider the possibility that blowing more money on players is no guarantee of success. Success takes coach charisma, a clear gameplan, with players team-oriented enough to play that way.

Good again from Dwight McNeil, picking out Chris Wood in the area and he nearly gets a shot away. Wood has been a total nuisance today.

Both sides will be eight points clear of safety with eight games left if it stays like this. Safe?

You'd say so. But Chris Wood is close to nodding the visitors back into the lead but he can't control the header from Charlie Taylor's whipped ball.

James Ward-Prowse is very close to threading a dreamy pass into the run of Danny Ings but a stretching Burnley boot cuts it out.

Is a point a good result for both sides?

Kyle Walker-Peters wastes a good chance to cross before Matej Vydra can't get the ball away inside the Saints area. Nice open start, as we mean to go on.

Not sure why the Nay Sayers are moaning. Saints have had a rough time with injuries, but that's starting to change. We're the same club that were top earlier in the season

    Andy Nash

All this talk about getting rid of Ralph is insane. Wouldn't be Saints if we made it look easy. Have faith. Come on you reds!!!!

Four minutes added on at the end of the first half and Southampton are coming like a train still. Nathan Redmond has a beautiful touch to bring the ball down and find Ibrahima Diallo, whose shot deflects over the bar.

Chris Wood then finds Matej Vydra at the other end with another flick-on but it's well defended this time.

Cracking goal! Ben Mee makes a bit of a mess with dealing with a routine ball down the line but all credit to Danny Ings.

Once he got away from Mee he only had one thing in his mind. He runs from just inside the Clarets half, finds the area, dives inside a lunge from James Tarkowski and then puts it past Nick Pope with ease.

    Great comeback, great entertainment!

The Saints, are coming. Knocking on the door now as Nathan Redmond weaves across the edge of the box and sees his shot charged down before James Ward-Prowse's follow-up deflects over the top.

It's very good in fact! Nathan Redmond beats the offside trap and squares a fine ball, Theo Walcott is going to have a tap-in but Charlie Taylor does really well to clear from in front of him.
