West Ham have been superb this second half.

Newcastle have huffed and puffed, but ultimately they've run out of legs here and they need a goal now.

The Algerian has had a terrific opening game.

Phil McNamara: Not sure if West Ham are brilliant going forward or Newcastle are that bad at the back. Either way, makes for a cracking game!

Emma Gregory: It's the hope that kills you. Another day in the life of a Toon fan.

    Breaking

Spurs v Man City (16:30 BST)

The line-ups are out and there's only one thing you really want to know, isn't there?

And it's not whether Nuno gives his old Wolves right-back Matt Doherty a start.

Harry Kane is NOT in the Spurs squad, not even on the bench. Hmmmm.

    Too strong.

What a run from Antonio and his desire to get there. Newcastle look leggy now and the power and pace of West Ham is too much for them now.

  19. 'Newcastle have been sleeping'published at 15:27 British Summer Time 15 August 2021

    Newcastle 2-4 West Ham

    Neil Lennon
Former Northern Ireland midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Steve Bruce will be absolutely fizzing with his players. It's a schoolboy error not to follow in on the penalty. Newcastle have been sleeping.

This was the worry for me, Newcastle just got psychologically, mentally and physically tired. West Ham are a big, strong team and they're starting to really play.

In this game anything can happen, but it's been all West Ham for the last ten minutes.

  20. goal

GOAL - Newcastle 2-4 West Hampublished at 66 mins

    Michail Antonio

    It is four!!

West Ham have ripped apart Newcastle on the counter. Said Benrahma leads the charge slipping a pass through to Michail Antonio.

He had a frown on his face when he missed the penalty, but Antonio makes no mistake this time, getting the ball out of his feet and smashing an unstoppable drive low into the bottom corner.

That's 47 Premier League goals in a West Ham shirt for Antonio, equalling Paolo di Canio's Hammers record.
