    Newcastle 0-0 Southampton

Newcastle have a free-kick. Three men stand over it but it's Jacob Murphy who takes... just over. The Saints keeper was scampering, he wasn't sure that wasn't going in.

Mike: 9/10 men behind the ball from minute 1 in a home game. Trademark Steve Bruce tactics, is it hard to see why Newcastle fans are completely fed up? Worst footballing team in the PL by a distance.

Great. As soon as I drop Toney from my fantasy team, he scores.

    Newcastle 0-0 Southampton

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

That is harder to miss than it is to score for Moussa Djenepo. He is centre of the goal, four yards out, it has come to his right foot which he favours. It is impressive that he has managed to get it over the crossbar from there.

    Brighton 0-0 Everton

Everton's best chance of the game. Andros Townsend hammers one towards the bottom corner from 20 yards and it's tipped round the post by Robert Sanchez.

All West Ham now. Palace living dangerously as a couple of deliveries flash across their six-yard box.

    Newcastle 0-0 Southampton

Southampton want a penalty as Kyle Walker-Peters claims his shot hit an arm. Referee says no.

That came moments after Moussa Djenepo delayed in taking a shot while in on goal before turning and having an effort blocked.

    West Ham 0-0 Crystal Palace

What a clearance. Joel Ward take a bow.

The Crystal Palace defender gets his goalkeeper, Vicente Guaita, out of jail after he's caught in no man's land trying to reach Vladimir Coufal's cross. The ball loops up and Ward slides in to clear off the line.

What a sitter Moussa Djenepo has missed. An absolute sitter. Sitter city, population one.

Valentino Livramento rolls the ball across the box - I'm not sure if it was a pass or a wayward shot, it doesn't really matter. And Southampton's Djenepo, unmarked inside the six-yard box with an open goal in front of him, shoots over.

Former Man City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Great save by Raya down to his right-hand side, he's on the goal-line, under pressure, Villa have lots of bodies there.

It falls to Danny Ings of all people, you expect him to score - but it's a great save.

Everton want a penalty as Yves Bissouma shoulders the ball. There is a quick VAR check but that's not a handball. Corner instead.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:21 British Summer Time 28 August 2021

    Aston Villa 1-1 Brentford

Brilliant reflexes from Brentford keeper David Raya who gets down to his right to save from Danny Ings.

Ezri Konsa had a great chance for the hosts just before that but completely misread Anwar El Ghazi's pinpoint cross.

Tremendous game this already, all about the atmosphere being generated by not only the Villa fans - who have found their voices again after the equaliser - but the Brentford supporters to.

    My ears are ringing already.
