They trail here, but Southampton have been a more consistent threat and had more chances.

James Ward-Prowse's corner is cleared but only as far as Oriol Romeu, who fires a shot from range that skips wide.

The home side's two Portuguese players almost combine as Bruno Fernandes' pass just evades Cristiano Ronaldo on the edge of the box. Had he gathered the ball, he would have been in.

Now Cristiano Ronaldo is penalised for pushing Jen Bednarek. He's not happy, but he's bang to rights.

Southampton won't panic here. If you're not going to flap when you're 2-1 down with 10 to go at Tottenham, 1-0 down here with an hour left is fine.

United are getting plenty of joy with those raking passes, like the sumptuous one that Bruno Fernandes just played in the lead-up to the goal.

Paul Pogba has also been in good stroke in the middle of the park, one particularly eye-catching outside of the foot pass earlier in the game that Marcus Rashford wasn't able to capitalise on.

It was a really well worked goal. Bruno Fernandes comes off really deep, 20 yards inside his own half; Marcus Rashford's movement is excellent; he's come short, spun in behind, Bruno's pass has great weight on it so the keeper couldn't really come out and he's just slipped the ball across for Sancho. Manchester United will be really pleased with that.

Southampton were really high defensively and you've got to be careful when you've got the pace of Sancho and Rashford, you've got to be careful.

Marcus Rashford is enjoying himself here. On the break, against a full-back looking to push high he can be deadly. Was he on the list of players you United fans were happy to let go? There'd be plenty of interested parties.

Mohammed Salisu has probably got away with one here. He clearly handles to block a Bruno Fernandes lofted pass towards Marcus Rashford, but there's no booking.
