Whatever happens the rest of the season, we have been patching things over ever since Fergie left. Pains me to say, but Liverpool and City are structured far better from top to bottom, this needs more than a new manager or squad rebuild.

Jordan Pickford to the rescue again!

Harry Maguire heads it across to Cristiano Ronaldo. He takes a touch then smashes it on the half-volley.

Pickford blocks it and there's a quick VAR check for a handball off Michael Keane which doesn't last long.

Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Everton's game management has been good - that's what they didn't do against Burnley, they were clumsy they got punished and they need to learn from this. The home support has been incredible, from the first whistle the supporters have got behind them.

Manchester United, what a poor day for them, they've been nowhere near at it, they lack intensity, pace or any sort of structure. And the main man Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't had any kind of service at the top of the pitch.

Seamus Coleman does really well on the right as he beats a few players and breaks into United's half.

It's hoofed long for Bruno Fernandes to chase and Jordan Pickford comes running across just to make sure but it will roll out.

He goes to collect the ball but the steward gets there first, deliberately keeps hold of it for a few seconds and Pickford laughs. He turns back to the referee and puts his arms up innocently. "It wasn't me (but I'm secretly grateful)!"

Hiring an interim manager with so much of the season to play is proving to be such a bad decision. The players aren't playing for Rangnick, the board didn't back Rangnick. The club gave up on the season, now the players have. Can see empty seats long before the season ends.

    Danger for Everton...

Juan Mata pokes it across and it almost falls for Anthony Elanga but there's enough bodies in the way to block it in front of Jordan Pickford.

Getting more and more tense for the home fans!
