Lille midfielder Amadou Onana has just walked into the Goodison Park directors' box to very warm applause. The highly-rated 20-year-old's £33m move to Everton is expected to be confirmed in the not too distant future after he turned down West Ham United to move to Merseyside.

Steve: Fulham got a pen for nothing but sterling is hugged down and gets nothing. VAR isnt working again this season

Lee: What is the point of having VAR if not going to use it? How can it be a free kick against Sterling?

Lovely footwork by Anthony Gordon as he evades Thiago Silva's challenge inside the box and then tries to weave past Kalidou Koulibaly but the defender gets an important foot in to stab the ball away from Gordon.

Almost half time but we're sure to have at least seven minutes of time added on because of the lengthy delay due to Ben Godfrey's injury.

Tim: Evertons luck gets no better does it. Season is under 20 minutes old and Godfrey is stretchered off, trying to redeem himself after a mistake. No recognised striker, and now this. Going to be a tough season if Lamps doesn't pull a transfer rabbit out the hat.

Anthony Gordon's pull back almost finds Demarai Gray but N'Golo Kante is there to get the crucial touch and clear.

Everton have looked decent in this game, defending well and a threat on the break.

Anthony Gordon is sporting bleached blond hair, which I've noticed a few young uns doing these days.

Everton have so far stood up to all of Chelsea's set pieces. They have to be concentrated because Chelsea will keep on coming.

    And this time Everton clear.

Thomas Tuchel won't be best pleased that Chelsea are into double figures with corners and haven't made Jordan Pickford work.

Chelsea try something different as Reece James plays the ball back to N'Golo Kante but its the wrong choice as Everton force them all the way back.
