That would have been some goal if she could direct her effort on target.

Man City have been boosted by that opening goal and they are on the front foot again.

Khadija Shaw has been impressive so far and she is given too much time to turn inside the box.

She pops the ball between the legs of her marker and then tumbles to the floor, but the referee isn't interested in a penalty.

There's a chant of 'she's big, she's blue, she'll eat a kangaroo' ringing round Walton Hall Park in reference to former Manchester City midfielder Jill Scott.

Definitely had a little chuckle at that one.

She just misses the target but it's more neat link up by the City forwards.

City have had 57% possession so far but only produced one shot on target.

They will be disappointed at their lack of goal threat so far, despite looking very comfortable on the ball.

The hosts are just starting to grow into this game after a quiet opening 20 minutes.

Another ball is floated over the top and City have to scramble across to put the ball out of play.

Everton are nearly through on goal but Laia Aleixandri reads it well and is quickly across to snuff out the danger.

Deyna Castellanos lies on the turf for a few moments as she receives treatment on what looks like an ankle issue.

Fortunately for the visitors, she's back to her feet and the game goes on.

But Khadija Shaw is ruled offside. It certainly looked like a tight call but it was good finish nonetheless.

Everton have their first chance of the game and it falls to Aurora Galli.

She latches onto the loose ball and fires her shot just wide. That would have got the home fans off their seats.

Bunny Shaw did really well there to get away from her marker.

She sent in a teasing cross but Julie Blakstad's header was way over the bar.

City really would've wanted a role reversal to have Shaw on the end of that ball - she has scored four headers this season for City.
