Man City are doing everything they can following the two early losses in the season. It has put them on the backfoot. All they can do is to beat what is in front of them and they were deserved winners today.

Everything now seems so much better for Liverpool.

They have Leicester at home in their last game before the break - the fixture they would almost certainly choose in pursuit of successive WSL wins.

Katie Robinson was a real threat for Brighton in the second half. I think Lee Geum-Min produced a real shift and was all the over the pitch.

Alex Greenwood is a fantastic player. She leads by example with her quality on the ball. When you have got a number of new players and additions to the team, you need that stability, strength and leadership.

  7. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:02 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

    Liverpool 2-0 West Ham

Matt Beard's Liverpool side end that run of seven games without a victory.

First-half goals from Ceri Holland and Katie Stengel seal a second win of the season, which moves the Reds into ninth place in the WSL table and see West Ham drop a place to sixth.

We are into a ninth minute of time added on. Liverpool can see the finish line and a welcome second win of the WSL season.

Brighton deserve it. They have worked really hard in this second half. Three goals down at half-time and really worked hard on their defensive shape. They have been a threat in this second half. I think they deserve that goal.

  10. FULL-TIMEpublished at 15:55 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

    Man City 3-1 Brighton

It's all over. A well deserved three points for Manchester City but Brighton can be proud of that second-half effort.

    Lee Geum-Min

A consolation for the visitors in the third minute of time added on!

Lee Geum-Min prods home on the line after her own volley from a long free-kick into the box rebounds back off the post.

  12. Postpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

    Man City 3-0 Brighton

Manchester City have a late corner. It won't change the result but a late goal would be cruel on Brighton.

The set-piece comes to nothing as the clock ticks into a third minute of time added on.

  13. Postpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

    Liverpool 2-0 West Ham

A series of injuries and stoppages have stopped West Ham building any kind of momentum here in the second half.

Liverpool's Missy Bo Kearns is the latest to go down requiring treatment. She is OK to continue though.

We are in to time added on now.

Brighton had to still come out and up their game. They've worked really hard in this second half. If they can get to the end of this game without conceding another goal, then I think they can take a lot of confidence into the next game from this second half-performance.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

    Man City 3-0 Brighton

Brighton make a chance now with Libby Bance on to replace Veatriki Sarri with a little over five minutes of the 90 remaining.

  16. Postpublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

    Liverpool 2-0 West Ham

Just seven minutes of normal time left for Liverpool to hang on here. West Ham are starting to run out of ideas. Instead, it is the Reds who are applying the pressure, with Ceri Holland spinning and shooting goalwards. Mackenzie Arnold is equal to it though in the West Ham goal.

  17. Postpublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

    Man City 3-0 Brighton

A flowing Man City attack is ended when Filippa Angeldahl looks for the extra pass to Khadija Shaw, allowing the Brighton defender to step in and intercept.

City win the ball back quickly, though, and this time it does lead to an effort on goal from Shaw, a firm header to meet a cross from the right but comfortable enough for Megan Walsh in the Brighton goal.

    Lindsay Johnson

The pressure that Man City players can put on the Brighton players restricts them from making those early passes.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

    Liverpool 2-0 West Ham

Rachel Laws is back in action almost immediately to punch away a cross, but catches Viviane Asseyi in the process.

While the West Ham player receives some attention, Matt Beard replaces Megan Campbell with Yana Daniels.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

    Liverpool 2-0 West Ham

Liverpool goalkeeper Rachel Laws stands up well to palm away a shot from Dagny Brynjarsdóttir but hurts herself in the process.

Laws has heavy strapping on her right leg and has that redone by the Liverpool physio before play resumes.
