    Reading 1-0 Tottenham

Rosella Ayane curls a shot wide from the edge of the box. The Tottenham forward had plenty of time and space there. Spurs still have not had a shot on target in this first half, as we head into time added on.

  2. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Reading 1-0 Tottenham

Reading goalkeeper Jacqueline Burns dwells on the ball a little too long there and is almost caught out. A huge sigh of relief from the home side, who don't want to be conceding so close to half-time.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 38 mins

    Reading 1-0 Tottenham

Emma Harries cuts in on her left foot and her deflected shot is blocked by Tottenham keeper Becky Spender. The Reading captain was sent clear by a superb, searching ball from deep by Sanne Troelsgaard.

Tottenham have struggled in possession to find passes. We've got to give credit to what Reading are doing defensively. I think they've been fantastic, certainly getting bodies around the ball real quick to make it difficult for Spurs.

  6. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Reading 1-0 Tottenham

Drew Spence decides to try a pass inside after racing clear of the Reading defence but her attempt is cut out. She really should have kept going there.

Reading go straight up the other end and Emma Harries has another chance to score, planting a header just over the bar.

This game is really starting to open up.

  7. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Reading 1-0 Tottenham

Ashleigh Neville finds herself in front of the Reading goal with an opportunity to shoot but her effort is blocked. That was a good chance.

Reading clear their lines from the resulting corner but the ball is flung back into the box from another set-piece and Amy Turner loops a header just over the bar.

Emma Harries volleys a Tia Primmer cross goalwards and is peeling away getting ready to celebrate as Tottenham keeper Becky Spencer tips the ball on to the bar for a second time this match.

    Stunning flying save.

Emma: Can't even tell the Reading and Tottenham players apart. They are both in blue.

Reading need another goal. Going into the first half just being a goal ahead, I think they would be disappointed.

  12. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Reading 1-0 Tottenham

Faye Bryson is given a stern talking to by the referee following an aerial challenge on Ashleigh Neville.

The two players are having a real battle, sharing some fruity challenges.

Bryson could easily have been booked for that one after leading with her arm but Carl Brook is keeping his cards in his pocket - for now.

  13. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20 mins

    Reading 1-0 Tottenham

Sanne Troelsgaard goes down in the box and it looks like a decent shout for a penalty in live play.

Referee Carl Brook is not fooled, though, and waves play on. The inference is that Troelsgaard was looking for that, or potentially tripped over her own foot, after minimal contact from Tottenham's Molly Bartrip.

  14. 'It's come from a midfield mistake'published at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

    Reading 1-0 Tottenham

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC Red Button

It's come from a Tottenham mistake in the midfield. Tia Primmer has got onto the ball and takes the opportunity to take the strike. Becky Spencer is slightly off her line as she takes her strike from distance. It was a good save onto the crossbar and I think Turner heads it into her own goal.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 14 mins

    Reading 1-0 Tottenham

Sanne Troelsgaard, Reading's goal hero from that draw against Liverpool, bursts into the box before firing a low strike into the legs of Becky Spencer.

The Royals have come alive after that goal.

Calamity at the back from the visitors.

Amy Turner inexplicably heads into her own goal after Tottenham goalkeeper Becky Spencer tips a fierce long shot from Tia Primmer on to the crossbar.

There needs to be more movement in front from the two Reading centre-halves. You can see Emma Harris is trying to stretch as it's an option Reading can use to try and open up pockets of space.

  18. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Reading 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham's Ashleigh Neville slides in unnecessarily on Faye Bryson on the edge of the Reading box with the home side under pressure.

The Royals defender takes her time to get to her feet but is OK to play on.

Spurs are keeping this Reading backline penned in right now.

  19. 'We saw Reading character against Liverpool'published at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

    Reading 0-0 Tottenham

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC Red Button

I think we've seen the [Reading] character in the league game against Liverpool and were able to come back into the game. It's a game which probably before they would have lost and they managed to get a draw out of it. Coming from behind on two occasions.

If Reading stick to their game plan, they will give themselves a really good chance to get something out of this game.

  20. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Reading 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham make a meal of an attempted clearance as Reading probe with a high ball to the edge of the box, but the home side are unable to make anything of it.

When the visitors do clear their lines they win a free-kick 25 yards out, which Eveliina Summanen takes but fires into the wall.
