    Chelsea 1-1 Everton

The Everton fans went absolutely ballistic when that goal went in. They are the ones you can hear now. A home steward is forced to come on with a little cage to remove a blue flare.

Credit to Everton. They fell behind but their heads did not drop. They've battled back and have a massive goal and one hand on a massive point.

    Abdoulaye Doucoure

    Everton seize their moment!

Set-pieces are such a big weapon in the Toffees arsenal. Dwight McNeil swings one over that is headed on by Ben Godfrey and flicked past Kepa by Abdoulaye Doucoure. Kai Havertz tries to hook it away before it crosses the line but fails.

    Everton win their first corner.

Chelsea have lost a bit of control.

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Demarai Gray is the key for Everton if they are to get anything here.

He carries the ball down the right and whips in a fine low ball that is just a bit ahead of onrushing team-mates in the box. Kepa dives on it.

  7. Postpublished at 64 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

James Tarkowski is not a man to take any decision against him well. He claims he gets the ball as he tackles Joao Felix with his studs up. He got a bit of the ball and a bit of the man.

There is a real bit of fight about Everton, they're not just rolling over and giving this one up. That's good to see.

Sean Dyche will be delighted with that if nothing else.

  9. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

To be fair, Chelsea are having to do a bit more defending now. Kalidou Koulibaly has to be in the right spot to hook away a Dwight McNeil cross. Demarai Gray was sniffing in the box.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 60 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Christian Pulisic, recently back from injury, is withdrawn, with Conor Gallagher replacing him.

Played OK did Pulisic. Not seen as much of him after the break, though.

    Close!

Chelsea drive forward again and after Joao Felix is tackled the ball falls to Mateo Kovacic for a shot that deflects up and over the bar from an Everton diving block.

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Sean Dyche isn't happy, nor are his players. They feel Everton should have a free-kick for a sliding tackle by Enzo Fernandes on Demarai Gray.

The visitors have shown more endeavour since going behind than the 50-odd minutes before.

  13. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Chance! Everton's best of the game so far!

Demarai Gray curls in the free-kick and Michael Keane is there to meet it after darting into space, but he can't make any meaningful contact and the ball flashes wide.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 56 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Kalidou Koulibaly clatters Alex Iwobi on the right edge of the Chelsea box. It's a booking for the Chelsea defender and a very useful Everton free-kick.

  15. 'Felix just needed a little extra luck'published at 18:45 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

You can't make an argument against Joao Felix scoring today. His skills have been fantastic, he has controlled large parts of the play. He takes a touch and just hits it low and hard and towards the corner.

It goes through legs and when that happens, goalkeepers never seem to save it because they cannot get to that area.

He's hit the post three or four times for Chelsea and this time it has gone in. Maybe his luck is changing, that's all he needed really, a little bit of extra luck.

  16. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 55 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Christian Pulisic slots in a brilliant finish from the edge of the box, but the man who set him up with a backheel - Joao Felix - is offside.

This comes just after Michael Keane saw an Alex Iwobi cross hit him and drop to Kepa at the other end.

  17. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

That changes the game. Everton are going to have be a bit more ambitious at some point. How will they be and when? A second Chelsea goal and you suspect it is game over.

  18. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 1-0 Evertonpublished at 51 mins

    Joao Felix

It was always likely to be him!

Chelsea switch the ball left to Ben Chilwell and when his first-time cross is blocked, Joao Felix does the rest. One touch, one look up, one perfect low finish through bodies into the far bottom corner. Brilliant.

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

Demarai Gray hasn't had much to feed off but he's given Benoit Badiashile a moment of panic or two. He turns him and runs away towards the Chelsea box before a backtracking home player halts him.

  20. Postpublished at 50 mins

Reece James pokes a ball inside for Enzo Fernandez but James Tarkowski blocks his shot.
