What a waste from Everton!

They fire the ball forward to Dwight McNeil. He has the chance to run at the Chelsea defence and does so to get himself in a position to deliver. What follows is an awful slice to send the ball behind.

Christian Pulisic is the latest Chelsea man to not make quite as much as he should from a good spot. He fires a cross from the right straight to Jordan Pickford.

Aston Villa

Today is maybe the best 90 minutes we played here since I arrived. We conceded some chances to them, but I think it is normal because they are in a good moment.

Closing in on half-time. Chelsea have had all the ball and all the real chances. Have they really tested Jordan Pickford enough, though?

Pulisic shouldn't be staying on the pitch at the moment, they should be taking him off the pitch to have a good look at him.

Christian Pulisic took that Demarai Gray free-kick in the face. He gets some treatment but is deemed fit to carry on.

Everton have a free-kick and a chance to hurt Chelsea but Demarai Gray smacks it into the wall.

Joao Felix is still in the referee's ear to complain about James Tarkowski. It was a shirt pull, not a barge. Still naughty.

Chance!

Joao Felix (who else) wins the ball in the Everton half to set up an attack that sweeps left and ends with the forward driving a low shot straight at Jordan Pickford.

Between the initial tackle and shot, James Tarkowski clattered Felix off the ball but he just got up and cracked on. A cheap shot from the Everton defender.

Leeds United

Leeds manager Javi Gracia, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I enjoyed it - more so in the first half. In the second half we suffered a lot.

"We knew before coming here it would be a very demanding game. To win here, my players did many things well. They deserve the reward they got."

On his first win over Julen Lopetegui: "It’s the first and I hope there will be more in the future."

Everton cannot allow Joao Felix to keep doing the same trick.

They are going to have to get Idrissa Gueye to kill that space because if you keep giving him that space, he will create chances.

That's silly from Demarai Gray. Wesley Fofana is going nowhere, towards his own corner flag. A little shove and Chelsea have a free-kick and Everton lose the chance to put on some pressure.

Everton continue to dig in. They're not seeing much action in the Chelsea half, though.

Saying that, Demarai Gray almost makes something of nothing but eventually comes second best to Wesley Fofana.

Joao Felix and Graham Potter, that is a marriage made in heaven.

I don't think anyone is worth over £100m, but when he plays like this you can see why a club would spend that kind of sum on Joao Felix.

He cuts in from the left and has Everton scrambling. His low flicked cross is hammered clear, though.

Christian Pulisic is then clattered by Idrissa Gueye in midfield and that is the game's first booking.

When Joao Felix is on the half turn, he is extra special. Leaving players for dead. All supporters love skills like that.

He beats a couple of men near the Everton box and then sees a low ball into the box cleared. He's the spark. The home side just need to get the ball to him as often as they can.

Chelsea piling on the pressure in this opening 25 minutes. Everton are defending how every Sean Dyche team does, extremely well organised. Dyche is patrolling his technical area making sure his players are positioned correctly.

Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank: "I guess 1-1 was a fair result looking at the 90 minutes. I think we produced a fine first half where we deserved to get in front. Second half unfortunately they scored really early with the equaliser.

"After that I felt we couldn't really get going. We lacked the offensive quality from all of our offensive players. We didn't lack quality but maybe we weren't at the absolute top of our game.

"I am pleased we are 10 games unbeaten here. We're definitely creating a fortress and we need to keep building on that.

"I think this game was a good game and one we could and should have won. But before this season if you told me we would draw with Leicester at home and still be 17 points ahead I would have said 'nah maybe not,'"

[On the international break] "I always like it in a way, it is an opportunity to get players ready and energised.

"My glass is always half full, I am an optimist and I will look forward."

Chelsea players are getting ball in behind defenders. They have become a much more entertaining team to watch when it has begun to click and that's what Potter will want to see.
