Well Odegaard just seemed to waltz into Brighton's box there, unopposed and he thought 'why not take the shot' the angle was a little bit tight and he drives it just off target.

[Evan Ferguson] will be disappointed he hasn't hit the target and asked a question of Aaron Ramsdale.

Kieran Tiernay's poked effort inside the box deflects off Pascal Gross and behind for a corner. Evan Ferguson heads away Bukayo Saka's delivery but Arsenal keep the attack alive before Saka fizzes a strike just wide.

Evan Ferguson does really well as he is onto Levi Colwill's clearance up field. He uses his strength to hold off Jakub Kiwior but then thumps a shot wide of goal.

Four minutes to go until half-time. Arsenal have scored three or more in each of their last six home games but are struggling so far with just one shot on target.

Jambarrell: Two beautiful passing teams somehow contriving to create an ugly game that advertises the worst of football - snipes, wrestling, aggro, acting and ball out of play a lot.

No goals so far in what has largely been a scrappy game. Surprising given these are usually two really good football-playing sides.

Well that's the softest challenge of the afternoon but you're right it was a totting up process and I think just one too many fouls on Saka and I actually think he didn't need to make it because the ball was going over Saka.

Leandro Trossard sends the free-kick into the box but Granit Xhaka heads it well wide of goal.

Thirty three minutes into a game with a fair few heavy challenges and we have our first yellow card, Pervis Estupinan for a foul on Bukayo Saka.

Silvio Di Fede: Re 16:54 - Saka has been kicked out the whole season and nobody said a word. Maybe Arsenal being good again is getting some fans nervous.

The home side work the ball to Leandro Trossard on the left side of the box and the overlapping run of Kieran Tierney pulls away a defender and gives Trossard space to shoot. He takes it willingly with his strike clipping the top of the crossbar.
