I do think at times we need to see a bit more of this from Haaland, getting one v one against defenders and running at them, bullying them.

He's much more than a goalscorer.

I fully agree that Haaland is the only credible winner of the Ballon d'Or. However he doesn't stand a chance - FIFA and the French will anoint Messi for playing 7 good games in the World Cup, mainly against teams who wouldn't make the top half of the PL.

Some quick, sharp passing now as Manchester City work the ball forward. They are not afraid to go back and start again, however, if there's nothing on. All about keep Burnley off the ball at the moment.

I honestly think Burnley have given a good account of themselves thus far. Almost the worst possible opening fixture but they’ve looked very far from terrible. I think they’ll surprise a few and their fans can have optimism for this season.

    Nick

Burnley have put in a courageous performance. But my word some of the chances they’ve had and the decision making has been poor in the vital moments. They would’ve had a goal by now if they were a bit more clinical.

This has been a good start by Burnley as Lyle Foster wins the ball back off Mateo Kovacic. The crowd are certainly encouraged by this response so far.

Great run by Lyle Foster as he gets away from Kyle Walker on the left. He tries to cut the ball back to the edge of the area for a team-mate but Rico Lewis reads the danger well to get a boot in and clear.

To Eddie, Arsenal didn't miss out on the league last season due to an inability to score. It was throwing leads away that did it for them.

I wasn't sure if Pep Guardiola just had an intense expression while congratulating Erling Haaland as the two went off the pitch at the end of the first half but listening to a replay and hearing him speak he was really laying into him.

Always interesting to get that sort of insight into his man-management, what impact will it have on Haaland in the second half?

Why do people talk about Haaland's lack of involvement? Shearer and Lineker just scored goals - but not as regularly as Erling.

    Graham

Haaland has everything doesn't he? Well almost everything - just hasn't found a proper barber. Awful barnet.
