Left groundhog: "Big weekend for Vettel, that. I wonder if he holds the balance of power in the title race now."

Middle groundhog: "Nah - once Mercedes get their engine sorted out, they'll be right back in it."

That's just about it from us. Thanks very much for your company - and your comments. Hope we've managed to keep you entertained, even if it wasn't a thriller. We'll do it all again in two weeks, when Formula One returns to France for the first time since 2008, and Circuit Paul Ricard for the first time since 1990.

The last word, of course, goes to the Groundhog Jury. I'm going to miss those guys...

  3. 'A little win'published at 21:27 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

Daniel Ricciardo, who finished fourth, tells Sky Sports: "Pretty good, I'm relatively content for a fourth place. We knew it would be aggressive but we did all we could with that strategy.

"I'm pretty happy we got it (the car) through the whole weekend and we gained two points in the championship because we got Lewis. We had the engine upgrade and my car struggled more with driveability, so it could've been better. Max was driving well all weekend so I won't take that away from him.

"This is normally a really strong track for Lewis and Mercedes so for us to take a few points away is a little win."

Daniel Ricciardo may have slipped to fourth in the drivers' championship, but he was in a pretty good mood as he stopped for a television interview just now. Let's see what he had to say...

  5. 'We maximised our race'published at 21:25 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

Sauber's Charles Leclerc, who finished 10th, told Sky Sports: "I'm just extremely happy. Today was probably the hardest race for us, especially coming from a brake failure in Monaco.

"We just learned from what the issues were and knew what we had to do to fix the issue. I think we managed it really well and I'm really proud of the team. We really maximised our race.

"Formula 1 is a very complex environment and after each week I understand it more. My confidence keeps growing. The next four or five races will be important, but difficult. Hopefully our progress can continue."

Fernando Alonso, who was forced to retire in his 300th Grand Prix weekend, was asked by Sky Sports what he wanted to focus on.

"Le Mans," he said, with a smile. "I'm flying tonight to Le Mans tonight and from tomorrow it's another experiemnce and hopefully a good race. We are definitely focused on that.

Asked if he would still be in F1 next season, he added: "We'll see. I hope so. We definitely need to find more performance on the car and also get more competitive. We retired the car seventh in Monaco and 10th today. We need to keep improving."

  10. We have to work really hard - Laudapublished at 21:14 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

Niki Lauda, non-executive chairman of Mercedes, told Sky Sports: "We could not use our new engine but we have to say Ferrari as a package is unbelievable. The car is fantastic, as is the engine. We have to work really hard. Red Bull were a surprise but they were behind.

"We will have the engine in Paul Ricard. We played on the safe side so we didn't use it here.

"Lewis Hamilton had a temperature issue on his engine which he had to worry about so he could not go at full speed."

Adarsh gm‏: What seemed to be a promising F1 season, is turning to be a damp squib.... disappointed to see procession of F1 cars lap after lap..No action at all.

Darryl Biddulph: Quite possibly the most boring year of F1 so far which is incredible considering the title race is so close and the teams seem more closely matched. The powers that be have a lot of work on their hands.

Jeremiah Kariuki: Still on pendulum-like championship, three drivers taking wins in the last three races and all being dominant in their own race. Hamilton in Spain, Ricciardo in Monaco and Vettel in Canada.

This is the sort of result Max needed. It is not an exceptional result but good points on the board and they can go to the next three races with less pressure on him.

  14. 'Max has had an absolutely clean weekend'published at 21:08 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has just been speaking to Sky Sports about Max Verstappen - and has been very complimentary.

"I think Max has had an absolutely clean weekend," Horner says. "It’s great for his confidence and hopefully the start of a run for him."

Asked about which engine Red Bull will go with next season, Horner says a decision will be made after the French Grand Prix, probably in time for the race in Austria.

This is very big in terms of the championship and we could look back on this as a turning point. It was a dominant win from pole position and Hamilton was only fifth after he started fourth.

There is still a long way to go, but it is moving towards Ferrari at the moment.
