    Harris English's ball on green

Beautiful from AmericanHarris Englishon 16. He lashes one firm and low at the target and from a long way out will have a dolly tap in for a birdie and three under.

Now, canPhil Mickelsonbuild on his own stunner of an approach on 17? Oh Phil. Bogey, back to one under. His putt is pushed and slides on left of the hole.

Mr Law:  Congratulations to Bronte Law who has just defended the English Women's Championshps at Hunstanton Golf Club with a score of -13 which was sixteen shots better than second place. Bronte also shot a course record 63 on Tuesday. Well done Bronte! Dad.

  3. Mickelson dead-eye on 17published at 19:34 British Summer Time 16 July 2015

Phil Mickelson decides the 17th is worthy of laying up, big pressure on his third shot then if he is to make par. It's a wedge over the bunker and is it good? Is it good? Yes it is. Falls from the sky to leave six feet for par.

Paul Casey and Branden Grace tick along, pars on 16 leave them two under and four under respectively.

  4. 17 - Road Holepublished at 19:32

No birdies, 43 pars, 69 bogeys and 15 double bogeys or worse.

  5. No one likes 17published at 19:31

Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar and Justin Rose are all about to play the 17th and it is an experience which may need the odd prayer.

  6. English Womens Amateur Championshippublished at 19:29 British Summer Time 16 July 2015

Bronte Law, 20, has won the English Womens Amateur Championship by 16 shots.

    Scott -2, Kaymer -1

She is an absolute ripper for Adam Scott. He looks like he has put too much beef on his putt at 18 but it rattles into the cup and a score of two under is respectable. How did that not jump the hole?

Can Martin Kaymer hole a big one to end the day under par. All in blue, he lines it up from left to right and bang, get underground ball.

  9. Almost good for Rosepublished at 19:20

    Rose -3

Justin Rose is off the 16th green but it's makeable for par. Here it comes, pace on it, good line, very good line, ouch. That is agonisingly wide of the cup and he taps in for his second bogey of the day.

Great use of the wind emoji by Tommy.

  11. Faldo's nightmarepublished at 19:16

Nick Faldo is into double figures over par but dribbles a good birdie putt from range which affords a tap in on 16. The 57-year-old said he wanted to make the cut before he started his round. Not looking likely.

    Casey -2

It looks straight forward on 15 for Paul Casey, it is. Four feet, no doubt, two under. Casey has gone somewhat under the radar but if he can card a 70 it would be solid stuff.

  14. A good savepublished at 19:10 British Summer Time 16 July 2015

    Mickelson -2, Gallacher +1

Scotland's Stephen Gallacher has felt the force of the back nine at full throttle. Three bogeys and no birdies have splattered his card and he is back to one over with a hole left.

Can Phil Mickelson save par on 16, it's not a nice putt but well holed. He even does a fist pump. Steady.

    Quote Message

It's suddenly pretty cold out there and the wind is up enough that it's starting to make putting tricky. The giant scoreboards in the media tent tells the story - a mass of red on the left-hand side for the late starters, representing birdies on the outward nine, and a mass of blue on the right-hand side, representing bogeys - or worse.

  16. Wind bites two big gunspublished at 19:02

Justin Rose is in for his par on 15, still has work to do to maintain his position here. Both Phil Mickelson and Henrik Stenson go with almighty smashes on 16 but the wind is having none of it."Get back ball, get away from that flag," cry the elements.

The pair are on the fringe and will do well to make par.

Justin Rose is stood in sand on 15, this is nasty, he has around 50 yards to the pin. With a swish he takes some sand effortlessly and this ball is good, this ball is very good. It takes the slope and that leaves five or six feet for par.

Danny Willett in the clubhouse on -6

Englishman Danny Willett, who is in the club house on six-under, speaking to BBC Two:  "It's been a good day. It was a bit tricky in the afternoon, but I got a couple of sneaky flags. The back nine was really tricky so to come out with 33 there I was pleased. I played some really solid golf and I gave myself chances to make birdies and I got a lot of pars. I'm not worrying about the weather forecast for tomorrow. You could wake up and it's blown through and flat calm, or it could be really blowing. You just have to take it as it comes."
