    1UP Z Johnson/Walker v Kaymer/Garcia (13)

Garcia has put Kaymer in another tight spot at 14 and Kaymer has flopped onto the green from a bunker. Zach Johnson safely on, it's a putt off as the skies clear and the sun starts gently sizzling.

    Mickelson/Fowler v McIlroy/Sullivan 1UP (15)

Rory McIlroy has rolled home a couple of big putts in recent holes, he's bringing that fine touch which won him the Fed Ex Cup last week it seems.

He needs some touch again on 15, nice weight, finds the lip and stays up. Oh dear. Phil Mickelson is primed to convert from a few feet. That's the hole for America. Back to just one in it. Tense.

    1UP Z Johnson/Walker v Kaymer/Garcia 1UP (13)

Walker over at 13, from about 10 feet, and in it goes - the Americans have swung that game right around, Garcia's game has suddenly got rickety at an unfortunate moment.

    2UP Spieth/Reed v Rose/Stenson (15)

Justin Rose has the weight of the world on those sloping shoulders right now as he misses the putt to claw Europe back to within a hole in this top match.

Jordan Spieth has to put away four feet to halve the hole. That's easy for him, he'd drain that with his eyes closed.

    Mickelson/Fowler v McIlroy/Sullivan 2UP (14)

    Des Smyth

That is two fantastic birdies and they have played these holes fantastically well. Those two birdies have changed this match and we are in good shape now.

    4UP D Johnson/Kuchar v Westwood/Pieters (12)

Pieters and Westwood halve the 12th with Kuchar and Dustin, the Americans remains four up and almost home and hosed.

    Mickelson/Fowler v McIlroy/Sullivan 2UP (14)

Rory McIlroy is sticking to the spinning fist pump celebration it seems. He puts a way a putt of respectable length and launches into celebration, two up four to play.

A few finger wags at someone as he leaves the green. Rory is hot under the collar. This is bubbling along nicely.

  9. What a shot!published at 17:01 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    2UP Reed/Spieth v Stenson/Rose (14)

Can Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson reduce the arrears here on 15? Stenson from the first cut it clean as a whistle and the ball pitches in with anger, just eight feet left. That's a corker from Stenson. Jordan Spieth cannot replicate the feet, leaving a putt of three or four times the length. This is a key moment, Rose has to drain it.

  10. Postpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    A/S Z Johnson/Walker v Kaymer/Garcia (12)

Zach takes aim with a hybrid at the par-three, 245-yard 13th and he's on safely. Kaymer's tee shot has curled miles right and found sand. Advantage USA... fine escape by Garcia but Walker has a makeable putt to win the hole...

  12. 'USA not giving anything away'published at 16:58 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    4UP D Johnson/Kuchar v Westwood/Pieters (11)

    David Leadbetter
Leading golf coach on BBC Radio 5 live

It is a tough task, especially when playing two players who really aren’t giving them anything. Kuchar missed a short putt on nine, but apart from that they really haven’t giving away anything.

  13. 'Zach comes through'published at 16:56 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    A/S Z Johnson/Walker v Kaymer/Garcia (12)

    Fred Funk
Former US Ryder Cup player on BBC Radio 5 live

This could get them a little bit of momentum going. That was huge. Zach just came through for the Americans with six holes to go.

This is what it is all about, right here.

    Mickelson/Fowler v McIlroy/Sullivan 1UP (13)

Rickie Fowler from the sand on 14, solid strike into the green. Once again Phil Mickelson put him in trouble off the tee. Phil's driving is on par with that of a blindfolded elephant taking a swing from the tee box.

Rory McIlroy found 353 yards off the tee box on this drag. Andy Sullivan can fire one in nicely then, birdie chance and potentially two up.

    2UP Reed/Spieth v Rose/Stenson (14)

"Get down, get down," says Justin Rose on the 15th tee. This match halved the 14th so the US are two up with four to play. Rose's ball rests in the rough, Patrick Reed delivers a stunner of a tee shot, drawing the ball around the dog leg.

    A/S Z Johnson/Walker v Kaymer/Garcia (12)

Kaymer with an eight-footer at 12, Garcia must have duffed his chip, the Spaniard's wheels have come loose... tugs it left.Walker, I'm told, stuck his bunker escape to within seven or eight feet, Zach will have to get back level. Zach pours that in and they're back to all square.

    4UP D Johnson/Kuchar v Westwood/Pieters (11)

Over at 12, Garcia missed the fairway left this time and partner Kaymer can't get his ball up there in two. Zach from the fairway and he tugs it into a bunker. Over at 11, Pieters putting for birdie and he sinks it from about 10 feet out, Kuchar/Johnson with a putt to stay four up... Kuchar makes it...

  18. 'Fantastic birdie'published at 16:49 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Mickelson/Fowler v McIlroy/Sullivan 1UP (13)

    Des Smyth

The tee shot was wonderful - almost 250 yards - and Rory took the initiative, fantastic birdie.

This next one could suit Rory.

    Hole: 14

    Yards: 448

    Par: 4

The McIlroys and Dustin Johnsons of this world may try to fly the bunkers on the right side of the fairway from the tee. That will shave the dogleg but too much timber on the drive will see the ball roll into the left rough.

The bunkers near the green are deep and will swallow shots up.

  20. 'Going to the wire'published at 16:48 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    United States v Europe

    Des Smyth
Former Ryder Cup vice captain on BBC Radio 5 live

The Americans have been a little on the lucky side. They have hit a few wayward shots and they've fallen for them. It looks like we are going down to the wire.
