  1. Rory going steadypublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    McIlroy (+1 after 14)

Rory McIlroy has steadied his ship since a couple of bogeys either side of the turn.

He's up and down in four on the 14th for successive pars.

Heading up the slope, McIlroy rolls one to the left of the pin and then taps in from three feet.

    Easy does it.

  2. Bogey for Westwood... againpublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Westwood (+1 after 15)

That's back-to-back bogeys for Lee Westwood!

He finds the water at the 15th and drops a shot to fall back to one over.

This stretch proved so profitable for Westwood yesterday. Today, not so much. He's in danger of dropping out of contention.

  3. Birdie for Couplespublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Couples (-2)

Freddie is rolling back the years! Another birdie on the par-four fifth, after he stuck his approach to within the length of Peter Crouch lying down, puts 1992 champion Couples within two shots of the lead.

Wonder if the 57-year-old can still squeeze into his Green Jacket? Wonder if it has pockets of moth bites over the shoulders?

Perhaps it is time for new woolen number.

  4. Birdiepublished at 19:54 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Day (+1 after 2)

Jason Day punishes the first par-five drag for all it's worth. He leaves himself 15ft for eagle and then a two foot tap-in birdie.

Still very much in it at one over. Remember, ahead of the tournament he had some good news about his mother's health as she battles cancer. He spoke of having a weight lifted from his shoulders. Though winning this is not going to be top of the agenda in his life right now, it would be a classic fairytale.

  5. Hoffman hanging onpublished at 19:52 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Hoffman (-4)

Charley Hoffman has settled himself. After a birdie on the par-13th, he has chalked up four pars on the bounce to maintain his slender one-shot lead.

The American is wandering up to the final tee-box....

In tribute to Snoop Dee-Oh-Double-Gee, time for you to lay down your best lines.

We want you wannabe rappers to hit us with some golf-inspired rap lyrics. We're not going to even embarrass ourselves by trying...

Know your shizzle? Tweet #bbcgolf or text 81111. Keep them clean (unlike Snoop).

  7. Drop it like it's hotpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

So it turns out hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg is a golf fan and has been hanging out in Augusta this week.

"Hopefully I can influence them at the Masters to invite more people like myself who are cool and who are hip hop and who are about other things and bring some flavour to the Masters and not just let it be quiet,"  he tells Golf Digest.

Not sure whether the 45-year-old would get away with this celebration - in the Instagram video below - at Augusta though.

The Doggfather definitely wouldn't get away with sipping on a gin'n'juice on the course...

Phil Mickelson with a four-foot roller for birdie on two... job done. Back to one under as he chases a fourth Green Jacket.

A hole further on Jordan Spieth has nine feet for birdie. His 299ft drive got him in prime spec for a nice score on the card and he gets it. His playing partner Matthew Fitzpatrick is in three-putt territory and drops a blow.

  9. Westwood bogeyspublished at 19:44 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Westwood (E after 14)

There'll be no such birdie run for Lee Westwood in round two.

He strung five together in the final six holes to climb into third place heading into Friday's action, but has just bogeyed on the 14th.

It's a bit of a clanger from Lee, too. He's unable to drop his putt into the cup from a foot.

  10. Bogey for McIlroypublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    McIlroy (+1 after 13)

Frustration for Rory McIlroy at the par-three 12th as he slips a par putt wide of the cup from all of eight feet.

That's his fourth bogey of the day and sees the Northern Irishman tumble to one over.

He ticks over with a par on the following hole.

  11. Steady golf fanaticpublished at 19:34 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Fitzpatrick (-1 after 2)

Matthew Fitzpatrick - according to his manager Chubby Chandler - has one hobby... playing golf. He gets out on the course on Christmas Day no less.

Such commitment deserves reward and so far so good here, par-par through two leaves him one under and in the mix.

  12. Garcia confusion clearedpublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

  13. Defending champion to miss the cut?published at 19:29 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Willett +7

Danny Willett bogeyed the 18th yesterday... and he's just done the same again.

How costly will that prove for the defending Masters champion? Is that the missed putt that cuts his tournament short?

Remember, Willett kicked off his Friday by carding a quadruple bogey. Things could only get better from there, slightly.

It means the Englishman finishes day two at seven over par.

The cut mark is top 50 and ties and those within 10 shots of the halfway leader.

  14. Leaderboardpublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

  16. Garcia back up the leaderboardpublished at 19:27 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Garcia (-2)

Confirmation. Sergio Garcia has had two strokes wiped off his scoreboard, the triple bogey on the 10th reduced to just a bogey.

That takes his score back to two under and sees him climb back up into tied second alongside Rickie Fowler and William McGirt.

Why has happened? We're still to find out.

What is Sergio Garcia thinking right now? Does he know what is happening? What has he scrawled down on his card? Questions, questions, questions. And no answer.

  18. Garcia-gate rumbles onpublished at 19:22 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

  19. Birdie for Fowlerpublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Fowler (-2)

Rickie Fowler is climbing. The American world number eight follows up his eagle on two by sticking his approach shot on the par-four third to within 16 feet. And that birdie putt disappears down the drain quicker than a sewer rat.

  20. Bogeypublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Spieth (+4 after 2)

Sand to fairway to sand. Jordan Spieth in debt on the second hole and clammering for safety. He can't get it. A 10 footer or so is too much for the usually robotic putter and a par five serves him up a six. Not good. Masters winners tend to destroy par fives.

Only one hole has played easier than the second this week...
