  2. Sergio looked a little dejectedpublished at 23:37 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

I'm not saying that Sergio Garcia quit on that putt, but he didn't give it another. Justin Rose had the easier putt no doubt though.

Sergio looked a little dejected as he walked off the green.

The ball breaks right to left and drops in the right side of the cup. With his lips clenched, his face is one of grit.

Over to you Sergio... no. He dribbled it and it just sits there. He taps in and wipes his brow.

    Advantage Rose.

It will be Rose to putt first...

This is golfing heavyweights throwing massive shots at each other, slugging it out down the straight. Every man, woman and child in the gallery are on their feet cheering the two men as they approach this 16th green.

    Garcia (-9 after 15) Rose (-9 after 15)

Justin Rose is walking after his ball, he knows it's good. Bingo, the tee shot over water on this par three lands about two club lengths from the cup.

Guess who is the same distance away... yep. This is blow for blow.

  9. Postpublished at 23:29 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

Water on this next tee shot of course. I can barely watch...

    Garcia (-9 after 15) Rose (-9 after 15)

Justin Rose taps in for birdie. What drama we have here.

Sergio Garcia's putt literally clinged to the lip of the cup and just said "oh go on then", dropping in to prompt the mother of all running fist pumps.

Rose, ice cool, tapped in. I'd love to know what's going on inside his head right now.

    Schwartzel (-6)

Schwartzel nails his birdie putt at the last to go six under. It is good, but it is unlikely to necessitate a cigar.

Meanwhile, Fowler has dropped back to three under with a bogey at 16 and Scott has bogeyed 17 to go back to two under.

The field are being left behind. The winner will be one of two. Over to you Sergio and Justin.

  12. Postpublished at 23:27 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

Sergio Garcia is walking and fist pumping time after time. His teeth are gritted. Seve's here somewhere. People in the galleries are high-fiving.

  13. Eaglepublished at 23:26 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

Justin Rose to lag up... nice weight, line is off but it will rest close and surely be birdie for nine under.

Sergio Garcia, for eagle and nine under. The water next to the green offers the reflection of his torso. IT'S IN!

  15. 'I have goosebumps'published at 23:24 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Alistair Bruce-Ball
Radio 5 live commentator at Augusta

Sergio Garcia's second on 15 was halfway in the hole! You could not have plotted that trajectory better on graph paper. Sergio Garcia is laughing and chuckling as he walks down to the green. He is right in the fight here and I have goosebumps.

  16. Postpublished at 23:24 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    How finely balanced?

If Sergio makes eagle, the momentum is his. If they both make birdie, Rose will feel he's survived a key moment. So close.

  17. Wow!published at 23:23 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Garcia (-7 after 14) Rose (-8 after 14)

Justin Rose shields his eyes from the sun and he yells at his ball in flight. It's over the water and comes to rest on the back of the green.

To Sergio Garcia, huge divot, the size of my garden, "be good, be good" he mumbles. It's good, pitching next to the spin and trickling away, 10ft up the hill for EAGLE. That ball actually flicked the pin.

    Dear me.

  18. Kuchy, Kuchy Koo...published at 23:23 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Kuchar (-5 after 18)

Matt Kuchar has a smile as wide as his face as he stands in front of the BBC cameras talking to Rishi Persad.

"I love being here," he says. "It brings back some great memories from amateur days and days when i was in contention.

On his hole-in-one, the 19th in Masters history on the 16th, he said: "To get that amazing roar on 16, my kids will have heard that in day care a couple of miles down the road."

And on signing and giving his ball to a young fan, he added: "One of the cool parts of our job is to bring a smile to kid's faces. For me that golf ball is not a keepsake but it could brighten up his day and maybe we'll see him back here playing in a couple of years."

  19. Postpublished at 23:21 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Schwartzel (-5)

Schwartzel is in the monster bunker at the 18th. He does a fine job to get out and land on the green and give himself a decent chance from about 20 feet to end with a birdie and move to six under and with an outside chance. A slim one, mind.

  20. Postpublished at 23:19 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

A brief concern that Justin Rose had done a David Haye and suffered injury on the 15th tee. He seemed to stretch in discomfort after his strike. But off he trotted, whatever it was didn't last long.
