  1. Koepka gets lucky at 18published at 23:21 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

    B Koepka E, D Johnson +4 (17)

So Brooks Koepka, after sizzling his drive just short of 300 yards on the 18th, has 200 to find to make the green.

The leader watches Stenson and Rose finish off up on the 18th, takes six iron to his approach, but tugs it way left.

    "Oh no," he screams.

It rattles the bottom of the grandstand... and bounces back into play. A huge slice of luck?

Dustin Johnson pops his on to the heart of the green.

  2. Rose and Stenson finish uppublished at 23:21 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

    J Rose +7, H Stenson +6 (18)

Not only does Justin Rose land his ball in the same spot as Tommy Fleetwood, he follows his putt.

It breaks sharp left right at the end Justin. But just like Tommy, he didn't see it and his ball dribbled away.

    A three-over 73 to finish for the 2013 champion.

    Henrik Stenson finishes up with a two-putt bogey and a one-over 71.

  3. Rose finishing wellpublished at 23:16 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

    J Rose +7 (17)

Up ahead and Justin Rose has played a magnificent final mid-iron to about eight feet. In fact his ball comes to rest in almost exactly the same spot as Tommy Fleetwood's ball did about 150 minutes ago.

    T Finau +3 (16)

Tony Finau realistically needed a birdie on the par-five 16th to keep his challenge on track. But it's only a par for the American and he stay three behind leader Brooks Koepka.

Even a birdie-birdie finish is not likely to be enough.

So koepka can tap a birdie putt on 18 down to the flag, run past it, knock it back to within a foot and tap it in to win the tournament?

  7. Par for Koepka, bogey for DJpublished at 23:13 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

    B Koepka E, D Johnson +4 (17)

Nearly eight feet to make up for DJ at the 17th, he tickles it wide! Bogey for the world number one. Dustin Johnson's US Open hopes drift off over The Hamptons and disappear into the New York sky.

Brooks Koepka to stick this in for par from just over a foot. Down it goes, with added confidence.

    He's almost there...

    B Koepka E, D Johnson +3 (16)

Dustin Johnson coaxes his birdie putt from the front of the green up towards the hole, but again he's left it short. Some work to do to salvage par now.

Brooks Koepka stands over his with the Shinnecock Hills crowd lining the bank in the distance, scrapping for a decent look.

He rolls it right of the cup, but that should be a tap-in par for the American.

  10. Bogey for Reedpublished at 23:08 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

    P Reed +4 (F)

Not the finish Masters champion Patrick Reed was after.

He rolls one around the cup and watches it stay up to bogey the last, dropping him to four over.

Reed was in contention after five birdies in his opening seven holes, but made three bogeys and a solitary birdie thereafter.

Finally, Brooks Koepka can take to the 17th after an agonising wait.

He punches his tee shot in pin high, 30 feet to the right of the flag.

Dustin Johnson pulls his short. A long way short, it'll take a mammoth birdie putt to keep his US Open hopes alive.

  12. Rose bogeys, Stenson birdiespublished at 23:04 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

    J Rose +7, H Stenson +5 (17)

Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson are on the 17th green.

Stenson knocks in a six-footer for birdie to get to +5. But for Rose, the 2013 champion, it's another dropped shot.

Huge crowds flocking around the par-three 17th.

Brooks Koepka, looking to become the first man to defend the US Open title since Curtis Strange in 1988 and 1989, has a nervous wait while the Justin Rose-Henrik Stenson duo tidy up on the green ahead.

Tommy Fleetwood, meanwhile, is enjoying some Father's Day cuddles with his son Frankie back in the clubhouse. He looks relaxed, but probably feels his chance has slipped away...

  14. Koepka takes two-shot leadpublished at 22:57 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

    B Koepka E, D Johnson +3 (16)

A big putt coming up for Dustin Johnson. He needs to make this to stay in the hunt.

The world number one wanders the 16th green, checking his angles before taking on a 19-footer to make birdie.

Can he sink it? No, Johnson never had the line. He'll make do with par.

Koepka just needs to prod in for a potential US Open-bagging birdie. In it goes. The defending champion takes a two-stroke lead.

Tommy Fleetwood watched that putt drop on a television. He finished a little over two hours ago.

  15. Finau pars 15published at 22:55 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

    T Finau +3 (15)

Tony Finau is a little too aggressive with his birdie putt and it slides five feet past the hole. He is equally aggressive with the return but this time stick it in the hole for par.

The big par-five with a birdie chance coming up. But he may need more than one birdie in his final three holes...

    B Koepka +1, D Johnson +3 (15)

A wedge into the green from Dustin Johnson, who turns away and natters to his caddie as it sticks just beyond the flag.

And how about that! Magnificent from Brooks Koepka. Right on the money, as the leader dunks his approach inches from the cup.

    T Finau +3 (14)

Tony Finau is quietly creeping in the group behind the leader.

The American flips his approach up on to the 15th green, where it sticks slightly left of the flag. He'll putt for birdie from inside 10 feet.

    He's still in it, Finau.

  18. Par for Reedpublished at 22:50 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

    P Reed +3 (17)

Patrick Reed has spent an age looking at his putt on the 17th green. All angles and slopes checked, how's the pace? Too slow.

It only finished 10 inches from the hole but it never threatened.

A simple equation for the Masters champion. Birdie the last to give himself any chance of being in a play-off.

Brooks Koepka is criss-crossing the 16th, but continues to find the smart stuff. His second shot comes to a halt just inside the parameters of the fairway.

Dustin Johnson lays up for a good look at the flag.
