  1. Blame it on the weatherman?published at 21:09 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Media caption,

Could the final round of the Masters on Sunday be affected by thunderstorms?

Conditions could be a whole lot worse come Sunday afternoon.

According to the BBC Weather gods, there are some luminous rain radar shapes heading towards Augusta National for the final day's action...

  2. Fleetwood yet to get going...published at 21:08 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Anyone else see it?

Tommy Fleetwood can't quite get it going like Forrest Gump did on his run. The Englishman is currently level par after eight holes, meaning he has given one shot away today.

  3. Rose over the cut linepublished at 21:08 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Mickelson -4, Rose +4, Thomas -3 (18)

Frustrating finish for Justin Thomas. The world number five lips out on the last, meaning he ends a fightback of a round with a bogey.

Over to Justin Rose... oh no! He's missed a par putt from three feet. That means it looks like he might be checking flights from Columbia Metropolitan Airport tonight... he's over the cut line.

Phil Mickelson shows his colleagues how to convert from close range, sinking a par putt for a 73 which leaves him three shots off the lead.

  4. Georgia or Glastonbury?published at 21:02 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Peter Scrivener
    BBC Sport at Augusta National

Despite several hours of dry weather, one or two of the walkways are starting to resemble a wet weekend at Glastonbury.

I'm not suggesting it's time to get the welly-bobs out just yet but there's certainly some muddy sections to skirt round, particularly at the lowest point of the course down at Amen Corner.

A couple of unsuspecting female patrons in shoes better suited for a day at the beach found a new use for a water fountain near the 15th green.

It's squelchy rather than sticky but it will be interesting to see how it goes if the thunderstorms that are still forecast to hit in around 90 minutes, pass through.

  5. Postpublished at 21:00 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Mickelson -4, Rose +3, Thomas -4 (17)

Justin Rose misses the green on the last, he needs an up and down here. Big time.

If he doesn't then the world number one is in serious danger of missing the cut because of the 10-shot rule.

  6. Some cheer for Caseypublished at 20:58 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Spieth -1, Casey +9, Koepka -6 (17)

Jordan Spieth's putter lets him down again at the 17th, a birdie attempt from seven feet slides past the hole.

Brooks Koepka also has to settle for a par on the penultimate hole, meaning both are beaten by Paul Casey.

Think that's the first time this week he'll have the honour on his final tee at Augusta until next year...

  8. In the clubhouse...published at 20:52 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    DeChambeau -3 Day -7 D Johnson -6

Jason Day with the touch of a magician as he lags a putt up dead weight. You could blow that in. The lead is going to remain tied at -7 as Day is in the clubhouse with a round of 67. world-number-two Dustin Johnson is in behind him and will be a shot off the pace thanks to a round of 70.

And Bryson DeChambeau - going nicely until he made double on 10 - downhill putt, breaks left to right... misses by a whisker. Pars for everyone but these three men will all feel very differently about their day.

A four-man salvage crew heads off after this errant ball.

Could do with this gang following me around...

  10. Mickelson back to four under, Rose in dangerpublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Mickelson -4, Rose +3 (17)

Phil Micklelson slips a shot at 17 as a five-footer escapes his grasp. But it is even worse for his playing partner Justin Rose.

The world number one cards a bogey - his second in three holes - to move out to three over. He's going backwards towards the cut line which is racing up behind him like a thunderstorm.

You join us now at World's Strongest Man where Tyrrell Hatton of High Wycombe is preparing to bend a putter shaft over his own head.

His day is done. One over for his second round, two over overall.

  12. Postpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    DeChambeau -3 Day -7 D Johnson -6 (all on 18)

Jason Day plays up to the 18th green. Whisks through the ball and the first cut... a little shy of pace and he will look to two putt from there. Bryson DeChambeau from the fairway - long old day for him - goes over the flag and has a 20ft putt left. Dustin Johnson, in the bunker, lovely noise as he hits it... right of the green.

All three men will surely make par.

  13. 'You could be as aggressive as you can here'published at 20:43 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Molinari -7 (F)

    MolinariImage source, Getty Images

Clubhouse leader Francesco Molinari has just been chewing the fat over his round of five under par. He looked every inch the Open champion didn't he? Even if he is too modest to admit it.

"It never feels smooth round here unfortunately," he tells Sky Sports..

"It was very solid not many mistakes, when I missed the green I left myself easy up and downs so it was a very good day.

"You could be as aggressive as you can be round here because the greens were softer. And with there being no real wind you could aim straight at the flag.

"Now I’m going to rest. My game is in good shape so I wont gain anything from going hitting balls. As usual here there’ll be a lot of guys in the mix so I'll go and get some energy and play some good golf at the weekend."

  14. Birdies for McIlroy & Fowlerpublished at 20:42 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    McIlroy +1 Fowler -2 (6)

Rory McIlroy taps home his four-footer to pick up his birdie. Rickie Fowler, from a mite closer in, does likewise.

Interesting choice of headwear for Brooks Koepka this week. Mod paisley in our book.

Certainly he's been using his head since that early rollercoaster ride. Now he's back within a shot of the lead after a birdie on the 15th.

Playing partner Jordan Spieth's charge into the red has lost pace after successive pars, while the third wheel - Paul Casey - probably can't wait to get the airport.

  16. McIlroy & Fowler close in on sixpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Fist bumps.

Rory McIlroy pings his tee shot to within four feet on the par-three sixth to gasps of appreciation from the crowd.

Up steps Rickie Fowler - sporting some musketeer facial hair - to follow suit.

  17. On to the last...published at 20:36 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    D Johnson -6 (17) Day -7 (17)

Can Jason Day take the outright lead. Unlikely on 17 with a putt for birdie which measures around a kilometre.

What about Dustin Johnson, could he get to a share of the lead? Like Day, he needs to putt through time zones for a birdie.

Both men two putt and go to the last with a place at the front of the field in mind.

  18. Woods back to three underpublished at 20:36 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Woods -3 (6)

Is Tiger Woods' dress-code today basically just a white T-shirt?

Anyway, twenty feet of the sixth green separate him from the pipe, as inscrutable and enigmatic as hieroglyphics, but Woods is fluent in Augusta National's riddles.

The ball snakes its way home and Woods is back down to three under.

  19. Relaxed Rahmpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Rahm -5 (6)

    Jon RahmImage source, Getty Images

Jon Rahm is breathing steadier after that early sprint. Pars on four, five and six, after starting par-birdie-birdie, leave him nicely positioned in that group on five under.

Rahm is known as one of the more, erm, passionate players on tour but says he is starting to control his inner fire.

"I'll never lose that, that is deep in my core, that's never going away," he said earlier this year.

If he can stay calm in the midst of the antics of an annoying Augusta then the world number eight might have a chance of landing his first major...

  20. McIlroy close on fivepublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

Close! Rory McIlroy is a foot away from a birdie on the par-four fifth. He could have done with that dropping...
