  1. Sagstrom silences the crowdpublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    1UP Madsen & Sagstrom v N. Korda & Ewing (1)

It's jumping back on the tee box, but there's a deathly silence that shrouds the first green after Madelene Sagstrom rolls in a seven-footer for a superb opening birdie that puts early blue on the board.

Catriona Matthew has talked all week about silencing this crowd, and nothing does it quite so well as an opening birdie.

  2. Second fourball sets offpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Ciganda & Popov v Kupcho & Salas

America might be behind but that’s not really dampened the enthusiasm of the crowd on the first tee, with the music pumping out loud and plenty of dance skills being shown by the American players who aren’t playing in this session.

Jennifer Kupcho is the latest golfer to ‘do a Bubba Watson’ and get the crowd jumping and cheering while she tees off – with the man himself on the tee box helping out!

  3. Bubba enjoying the showpublished at 17:50 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

Bubba Watson is enjoying the Solheim Cup as much as anyone..

    Madsen & Sagstrom v N. Korda & Ewing

    We go again!

There's no rest for the wicked, or Nelly Korda, as the Olympic champion is sent right back out again to lead off the afternoon session alongside Ally Ewing.

You wonder just how much Korda has in the tank after such a hectic period of globe trotting recently.

The Scandinavian pair of Nanna Madsen and Madelene Sagstrom will be full of beans after watching Europe power into the lead so they'll be up for this.

  12. 'Nothing feels better than winning a point for Europe' - Pedersonpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    1UP Hull & Pedersen v Thompson & Altomare (F)

What a finish in the last foursome by Charley Hull and Emily Pederson - and here is what they had to say, talking to Sky Sports:

EP: "Clearly nothing feels better than winning a point for Europe and I'm so happy."

CH: "I actually enjoyed playing out there - it was great fun. We didn't really feel the nerves in the end coming from 2 down to 1 up.

"I like keeping the crowd quiet - I like hearing USA cheers, it makes you want to win more."

EP: "I saw that putt the whole way and I knew it was going to go in."

  15. Europe lead USA by 3 pointspublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    1UP Hull & Pedersen v Thompson & Altomare (F)

Last drive from Brittany Altomare but oh no - she is one of the strongest drivers on the team and she finds... the sand.

Lexi Thompson surveys what she has to work with, and in the mean time Charley Hull delivers a fantastic up and down to reach the green.

Must make putt for a par for Lexi Thompson - and in it goes.

What can Emily Pederson do to finish this off - a birdie will win this match for Europe... and she does it.

This match swung every which way and Pederson (who scored no points in 2017) gets one on the board with Charley Hull (who has never been defeated in this format).

Europe finish with a three point lead.

  16. A half as good as a pointpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Boutier & Hall A/S Ewing & Khang (F)

    HallImage source, Getty Images

Georgia Hall and Celine Boutier won all their matches at Gleneagles, and while their 100 percent record has gone their unbeaten record remains and it seems almost like a win after being two down with two to play.

Ally Ewing and Megan Khang won the first two holes and were in control all the way until the last two holes, when Europe managed to rescue a half.

“It was pretty tough match and both groups played really well," Hall told Sky Sports. "Obviously being two down with two to play isn’t ideal but we’re really glad that we managed to get a half point.

“I had to hole quite a long one on 17 just to get to 18 - we played 18 pretty well and we’ll definitely take that.”

  18. Reid & Maguire beat Kordaspublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Reid & Maguire beat N Korda & J Korda 1UP

Both pairings reach the final green in two shots but the US are in much closer. They need to win the hole to halve the match.

Leona Maguire fired Europe's second to the back edge of hte green. We've seen this putt a couple of times today already. It's fast and borrows from the right before turning slightly left at the end.

Mel Reid seeks Maguire's advice before settling over the ball. She sets that off too straight and the ball meanders wide.

Chance for the Kordas to rescue a half here. Jessica over the putt. She had a sneaky peak at the line Reid's ball took. Has it helped? From 10 feet... stays left. Gimme par.

Maguire to close out the win from three feet... BOOM!

  19. America hand Europe a half!published at 16:56 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Boutier & Hall A/S Ewing & Khang (F)

A shock short putt missed on the 18th from Ally Ewing sees Europe somehow grab a share of the point from a match they never looked like getting anything out of.

Megan Khang opened the door for Europe by driving into the bunker, but then looked to have slammed the door shut again by sticking their third shot almost stone dead to leave Europe needing to sink their lengthy birdie putt.

Celine Boutier can’t quite convert but then out of nowhere Ally Ewing tugs her putt nervously wide of the target from close range to hand Europe a half!

It’s a half point the visitors never really seemed like getting after American led from the very first hole but the pressure just told in the end.

  20. 'We got off to a great start' - Anna Nordqvistpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    1UP Nordqvist & Castren v Kang & Ernst (F)

Anna Nordqvist and Matilda Castren get Team Europe's first point on the board - and here's what they had to say, on Sky Sports:

MC: Honestly I couldnt have asked for a better pairing - Anna is avery nice person and a great player, i could play my own game and I put my trust her.

AN: It's always a specal feeling and I love the atmoshere and we got off to a great start.
