  1. Match three heading down 18published at 16:49 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    1UP Reid & Maguire v N Korda & J Korda (17)

Leona Maguire has a putt from the front edge of hte 17th green to win the match against the Kordas. But for once the Irishwoman's radar is a little off. It was a 25-footer though, so we'll cut her a bit of slack.

The hole is halved in par fours and they too are heading off down the last.

A guaranteed half point for Europe though. How dearly they'd love to make it a full one.

  3. Europe win top match!published at 16:45 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    1UP Nordqvist & Castren v Kang & Ernst (F)

Well, it got tense but if you want anyone to sink a two-footer to win a Solheim Cup point then it's Anna Nordqvist!

Europe take this one 1UP and a wonderful combination these two Scandinavians put the first blue point on the board after a titanic tussle with the American pair.

If every match ends up like this then it'll be some weekend.....

  4. Last foursome is back to all-squarepublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Hull & Pedersen A/S Thompson & Altomare (16)

Emily Pedersen is slaying her demons today as she guides Team Europe back to all-square in this foursome. Hard to believe she had a nightmare rookie debut with the way she has controlled her nerves today when Team Europe have been on the back foot.

Two holes to go - buckle up!

  5. Match two going the distancepublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Boutier & Hall v Ewing & Khang 1UP (17)

And the second match follows the first in going down 18...

Georgia Hall refuses to let this one go as she drains a putt from downtown and when Ally Ewing can't answer then Europe pull one back and force America to serve this one out as it goes the distance.

Funny old game matchplay, as the pressure largely comes off when you go Dormie down and now the pressure is all on the Americans to cling on to this point.

  6. Maguire saves Europe againpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    1UP Reid & Maguire v N Korda & J Korda (16)

"Fore right!" is the cry from Jessica Korda as she leaks her tee shot on the par-four 16th.

Mel Reid responds with a booming effort that splits the fairway. Advantage Europe.

Leona Maguire fires just beyond the pin with her second, leaving Reid a pacy 20-footer down the slope for a birdie to win the hole. Reid is again a little feisty and with the Kordas in for par, it's again down to Maguire.

And the rookie comes up trumps again.

  8. Europe get one hole backpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Hull & Pedersen v Thompson & Altomare 1UP (15)

Charley Hull walks in a lovely putt in on the 15th hole and brings Team USA's lead down to just 1UP with three holes to play. Hull and Emily Pederson have played a real cat and mouse game with Lexi Thompson and Brittany Altomare, who has been a veritable queen of the approach shots, certainly on the back nine.

This will be a nail-biter to close.

  9. Top match goes down the lastpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    1UP Nordqvist & Castren v Kang & Ernst (17)

We're going down 18 in the top match! Probably the worst putt Castren's hit today opens the door and USA charge through it to reduce the deficit to just one down with the 18th still to play.

The crowd love this and from what seemed a certain point now just gets a little bit nervy for Europe having to play the last without losing it to claim the point.

  10. USA go dormie twopublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Boutier & Hall v Ewing & Khang 2UP (16)

A guaranteed half point for the USA courtesy of a lovely putt from around eight feet from Ally Ewing just as Europe thought they might pull one back at a crucial time.

Looks more than likely this will be a full point for the hosts.

  11. Europe keeping Kordas at baypublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    1UP Reid & Maguire v N Korda & J Korda (15)

The Korda sisters miss their birdie chance leaving Leona Maguire with a chance to put Europe two clear again.

The Irishwoman gives her putt every chance, but it's a touch too hot, skirting round the left edge. The Kordas are giving nothing though and ask Mel Reid to putt out from a couple of feet for the half.

  12. Team USA go 2UPpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Hull & Pedersen v Thompson & Altomare 2UP (14)

Lexi Thompson is having a long chinwag with her brother, who is her caddy. She perhaps went a little longer than she would have liked onto the green on the par-four 14th.

Charley Hull, sitting in the first cut of fluffy-stuff, goes short.

The pressure is on, and the advantage swings back to Team USA as a bogey for the visitors sees Thompson & Brittany Altomare increase their lead.

Not much wriggle room now for Hull and Emily Pedersen to turn things around.

  13. Dormie two for Europepublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    2UP Nordqvist & Castren v Kang & Ernst (16)

Matilda Castren yet again threatening the hole from long range, nowhere on the green seems to be out of range for the Finnish star who catches a bit of the left edge here for a putt that would have sealed the match for the Europeans.

It’s dormie two though for the visitors here with half a point guaranteed, but they’ll want the full point from here.

  14. Postpublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    1UP Reid & Maguire v N Korda & J Korda (14)

Mel Reid turns up the pressure with a lovely approach to the 15th green, pin-high, a dozen feet left of the hole.

What can Nelly Korda do, also from the middle of the fairway. She gives her body a big twist as she tries to help the ball come in from the right. And it works a treat. The ball skips out of the rough and trundles on to the green, about 15 feet short and right.

    Both are big birdie chances.

  15. Postpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Hull & Pedersen v Thompson & Altomare 1UP (13)

Lexi Thompson and Brittany Altomare just cannot shake Team Europe off!

At the 13th Altomare nags herself a birdie. Emily Pedersen manages to silence the crowd as Europe halve the hole

Europe are scrambling on the par-four 14th after a wayward drive from Mel Reid but Leona Maguire manages to fashion a second that finds the front left of the green.

Reid lags the putt to three feet.

The Kordas also find the green in two shots but in a more straightforward fashion and they are pin-high and looking to level the match. Jess can only knock the putt to the holeside though.

Maguire for the half... another solid putt.

  17. Top match going Europe's waypublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    2UP Nordqvist & Castren v Kang & Ernst (15)

That Castren putter has been mustard almost all day and again it's a stright and true stroke that sends the ball home and gives the Europeans a two hole lead.

Two up with three to play.

  18. Latest scorepublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

Don't go anywhere folks, this opening foursomes session is going right down to the wire with Europe up in two and the US up in two, but only by the slenderest of margins in both cases.

  19. Hall gets one backpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    Boutier & Hall v Ewing & Khang 1UP (14)

That’s one back for the Europeans here after a very nervous jab with the putter from Ewing saw him miss a bit of a tiddler to open the door for Hall to knock her similar putt in and get it back to just one down.

Boutier and Hall really don’t want to lose their unbeaten record do they!

  20. Kordas win a hole backpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 4 September 2021

    1UP Reed & Maguire v N Korda & J Korda

There's a huge cheer on the 13th green. That can only mean one thing. A US hole won. It's Jessica Korda with a chip-in from the rough and a huge roar and fist-pump follows.

Suddenly they are right back in this one as they head to the 14th tee.
