That is lovely from Wiesberger on the 12th - it spins back towards the hole to about four feet.

The Europeans are not done yet.

    3UP Johnson & Schauffele v Casey & Wiesberger (11)

Good response. Paul Casey and Bernd Wiesberger work their magic on the 143-yard 12th hole.

Exemplary iron play off the tee. Can they pinch a hole back?

    Thomas & Cantlay v Fleetwood & Hovland 3UP (8)

Well there's only one spot of blue on the board, but it's an emphatic blue now as Fleetwood knocks in a putt out on the eigth by the lake to go three up on Thomas and Cantlay.

There could be a star pairing brewing here with these two - and right now Padraig Harrington needs a few more of these.

    John Murray

This will be tough for the Europeans. Johnson holed his putt and it's a big putt in every sense.

They have won two holes in a row Birdie at the 10th, birdie at the 11th and they are three up!

Dustin Johnson didnt even react as Michael Jordan jumped up!

  7. USA take the lead with Scheffler birdiepublished at 21:30 British Summer Time 24 September 2021

    1UP DeChambeau & Scheffler v Rahm & Hatton (10)

Scottie Scheffler sinks his 16-foot birdie putt from the back of the 10th green! Bryson DeChambeau has been the star attraction in this fourball, but his rookie partner is definitely here to play.

Can Jon Rahm respond? Not this time - it's another huge home roar as the pendulum swings back in the United States' favour.

    3UP Johnson & Schauffele v Casey & Wiesberger (11)

Close from both Paul Casey and Bernd Wiesberger....but no cigar.

Dustin Johnson with a putt to win the hole. He stands over it, comes away and goes through his routine again as a huge roar erupts in the background.

Here comes another. In it drops. Michael Jordan raises his arms aloft albeit not quite as emphatically as he did in game six in Utah all those years ago. Feels like a big moment.

  9. USA 2UP at the turnpublished at 21:28 British Summer Time 24 September 2021

    Finau & English v McIlroy & Lowry (9)

Gorgeous approach shot from 133 yards from Tony Finau sits down just five feet from the flag, and as he taps in the European pair of McIlroy and Lowry have no answer.

America go 2UP heading into the back nine and Europe really need to get something back as quickly as possible on the back nine.

Finau leaves the green cupping his ear to the crowd asking for more noise - not sure they can make any more than this!

    2UP Johnson & Schauffele v Casey & Wiesberger (10)

Dustin Johnson is starting to fire ominously for the Europeans. As a huge shout on the 11th green tells everyone around.

He tucks a wonderful iron shot in towards the pin to give himself another look at a birdie.

Pretty much what you'd expect from someone who spent almost three years at the top of the world rankings.

Paul Casey and Bernd Wiesberger must be feeling this, both are off the back, probably needing to chip in as Chicago Bulls and NBA great Michael Jordan watches on.

Can't imagine he'd feel any pressure.

    “Play as it lies, Shooter!”

A classic Happy Gilmore reference as Rahm brings over the match referee to discuss his lie.

Then, while we wait, a huge roar drifts over from the ninth and those on 10 join in.

    Thomas & Cantlay v Fleetwood & Hovland 2UP (7)

A near miss for Viktor Hovland as he just fails to find the target with a 15-footer after a nice tee shot into the par three.

There's no damage done as the hole is halved but that was a decent chance to go three ahead - and Hovland knows it.

    Kat Downes

It is driveable to the green of the 10th.

Here comes Bryson Dechambeau - wind blowing across the fairway and a big carry of native scrubland.

Is he going to go straight for the carry? Of course he is.

He comes up short in that wind.

    DeChambeau & Scheffler A/S Rahm & Hatton (9)

The 10th is playing 365 yards so, yes, Bryson DeChambeau is having a go.

He comes up short, though, as does Tyrrell Hatton. Jon Rahm is in good shape, short of the green while Scottie Scheffler will have plenty of green to work with from the right.

“Buenooooo!” shouts one Spanish voice as Jon Rahm sinks his putt to put the Europeans level.

That means the scorer has to do some work and gets the Ts out of his bag.

A little difficulty at first, but he eases them into position.

“Good work Sign Guy!” hollers a fan.

While the Europeans are getting some stick from the American fans - as expected, of course - everything I’ve heard has been good natured. No boundaries crossed nor lack of respect shown.
