Birdie to sign off? It drifts just past the cup, not that Scottie Scheffler minds.

Almost a birdie for Cam Smith too, but he'll prod in to let his playing partner have the final putt - whipping his cap off to applause from the crowd.

So to the world number one. Oh no, his par putt misses too, just getting a little excited! Now take your time, Scottie... and that's missed as well. Hang on?!

A purposeful stride from the 25-year-old, who doffs his cap as the patrons rise to their feet to cheer and holler him on to the 18th green. Scottie Scheffler's wife, Meredith, wipes a tear from her eye. There's about to be a major champion in the family.

Scottie Scheffler can't help but let a smile creep out across his face, no matter how hard he tries to keep it under wraps as he strolls towards his ball. It's right of the fairway, on the first cut, but with a route in to the green. And the green he finds with an excellent approach.

PGA Tour winner on BBC Radio 5 live

He is a well-rounded player. He's not just a big long hitter, he is a chipper, he is a putter. His distance control, his feel, his touch - he's got the full package, which, silly to say, he's winning everything he plays at.

    Savour the moment, Scottie Scheffler.

The 18th at Augusta National, on Masters Sunday, with a five-stroke lead. Moments from now he'll be slipping on the Green Jacket.

Patrons line the course as the world number one sends his final drive on its way.

  6. Watch: Scheffler holes another birdie to go 12 underpublished at 23:46 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -12 (17)

Even with a healthy lead, Scottie Scheffler still went for the 15th green in two, bringing the water into play, but he's just on another level today so made it across fine - and rattled in a birdie to follow.

After you scan down from Rory McIlroy's name, it isn't a bad leaderboard as far as British players are concerned...

The 2016 Masters champion Danny Willett is currently sat in a tie for 12th after completing his final round in a one over 73 to finish one over for the Championship.

Fellow Englishmen, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Lee Westwood and Tommy Fleetwood are also sat in the clubhouse at two over overall in a tie for 14th.

Scotland's Robert MacIntyre was one shot adrift at three over despite concluding his Masters with a three under 69.

  8. Scheffler saves parpublished at 23:44 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -12, Smith -5 (17)

Brilliant from Scottie Scheffler, even at this stage and seemingly a procession into the finish, the world number one is showcasing his whole arsenal of outrageous shots to make a tremendous up-and-down and salvage par at 17. The approach was magnificent.

  9. Lovely finish from Lowrypublished at 23:43 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Lowry -5 (F)

Shane Lowry sticks in a birdie putt on 18 to move into a tie for third on five under after a fine fightback from the former Open champion.

That triple-bogey six on the fourth hole really knocked the stuffing out of him but he built his way back beautifully to sign for a 69.

You can almost imagine up ahead in the Butler Cabin, the Augusta tailor is rifling through the rails through to find a jacket that will fit the tall broad-shouldered frame of the 25-year-old, from Texas.

Good discussion between Scottie Scheffler and his caddie about what he will take out of the trees. "I'll hit it about 60, right there," Scheffler says, pointing. And that's pretty much where he puts it. Still some way from the green, mind.

  13. 'This is madness' - Morikawa follows McIlroy and holes from sandpublished at 23:37 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Morikawa -4 (F)

Just seconds after Rory McIlroy nailed his bunker shot, the patrons on the 18th green were sent wild again when Collin Morikawa repeated the trick from the sand.

Morikawa sent his bunker shot flying across the green and in truth it may have ended up miles away had it not rattled the pin and dropped in.

A superb shot though, and McIlroy enjoyed this one almost as much as his own.

    Scheffler -12, Smith -5 (16)

Two for the patrons to chase... first it's Cameron Smith who tugs his drive and hangs out an arm to signal it's going left, sending some onlookers into a frantic semi-sprint to stand by it.

Scottie Scheffler also looks to have dragged it. Shouldn't be too much bother for the leader.

  15. Not to be for JTpublished at 23:33 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Schwartzel E, Thomas -1 (F)

Many people fancied Justin Thomas this week but he's just not managed to put it all together, with his round of 72 today summing up his Masters.

He hit three straight birdies on the back nine, but only after he'd gone bogey-bogey-double bogey a bit earlier. JT will be a frustrated figure after this one.

I bet Cameron Smith doesn't know where he is at the moment. One hole has totally skewed his whole Masters but great to see him have a bit of a comeback.

If he can get a couple more birdies, if he can finish third - it's going to be devastating though, no two ways about it but at least it's a decent finish.

  17. Scheffler safely throughpublished at 23:30 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -12, Smith -5 (16)

Not leaving anything to chance, Scottie Scheffler. He zips a birdie putt towards the pin and it breaks left at the moment to give him a tap-in par. On to the 17th he goes with a five-shot lead with two to play.

Cam Smith, meanwhile, has just reignited his putter! He's out of contention, but fires in another birdie to climb back to five under.

    Scheffler -12, Smith -4 (15)

    Trish Johnson
Eight-time member of the Team Europe Solheim Cup team

You can see Scheffler doesn't want to get involved wth the crowd at all because they're loving it, and they're giving him all the adulation. He's focused on exactly what he wants to do.

He knows it's not over until it's over.

  19. Postpublished at 23:25 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -12, Smith -4 (15)

Decent tee shot from Scottie Scheffler at the par-three 16th, into the heart of the green. He could play bogey golf on the run in and still win, but the 25-year-old looks more likely to improve on his lead.

  20. Watch: Magnificent McIlroy holes from bunker on 18th for 64published at 23:24 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    McIlroy -7 (F)

Anyone want to see that astonishing conclusion to Rory McIlroy's round again?

Thought so. Absolutely magical stuff from McIlroy.
