  1. Watch: Smith's 'world class' birdie on 11published at 22:44 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -10, Smith -4 (12)

Here's how Cam Smith closed the gap, before letting it reel out of his hands once more...

    McIlroy -6, Morikawa -3 (17)

Rory McIlroy is left again off the tee and finds the sand on the 18th.

He really needs a three here and hope that enormity of the occasion gets to Scottie Scheffler over the final few holes.

    Im -2, Lowry -3 (13)

Shane Lowry almost spins in an eagle on 13 after laying up and firing a wedge in with all sorts of action on it, but he nevertheless taps in for a birdie.

They're all just playing for places really now but that's T4 for Lowry.

Cameron Smith looks a beaten man. He started so well, with two birdies closing the gap to one after two holes, but despite getting it back to three again after a resurgence from Scottie Scheffler on the front nine, that triple bogey has knocked the stuffing out of the Australian.

Now he's sixth back, and not even Scheffler's closest challenger.

Smith lashes a hybrid down the 13th and it almost trickles into the water, but just comes up shy. How's your luck, ey.

  5. 'It's been a great charge, but he was simply too far back'published at 22:39 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    McIlroy -6 (17)

    John Murray
BBC golf commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

I think he knows. It's been a great charge from Rory McIlroy but he was simply too far back. One over par when he started, six under par now.

Scheffler just too far ahead, it would seem.

  6. Postpublished at 22:38 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    McIlroy -6, Morikawa -3 (17)

Wonderful from Rory McIlroy. He splashes out of the sand and sees his ball shuffle up to two feet to make par. He's just run out of holes.

  7. Triple bogey for Smithpublished at 22:34 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -10, Smith -4 (12)

Cam Smith clips over the water but watches his attempt trickle away right and his fourth shot, a chip back on, runs on a touch past the pin.

Scottie Scheffler is looking to escape with a par after tugging his tee shot left. Good second to the edge of the green, and he rolls in superbly for a scrambling par. Brilliant.

Smith, for double bogey, it fizzes by... three shots dropped, and surely game over.

Did someone give Rory McIlroy a satnav on the 14th? He whips a third tee shot in his last four miles left. Not what's needed at this stage in the day.

Where's his second going? The patrons like that. There are a few whoops as the Northern Irishman tries to follow his ball in the sunshine. Is he in the front bunker? Maybe not the worst outcome.

  9. Zalatoris leads in the clubhousepublished at 22:31 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

Will Zalatoris is your clubhouse leader at the Masters after he finishes his round on three under after a flying finish to his final round.

It was a thunderous final 11 holes of the tournament for Zalatoris, who finished second here last year of course, as he hit six birdies to come from nowhere to currently sit T4.

    Scheffler -10, Smith -7 (11)

Scottie Scheffler, having watched Smith find the drink, drags his tee shot way left and will have a tricky second shot of his own... but at least it's dry.

  11. 'An absolute shocker'published at 22:27 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -10, Smith -7 (11)

    Trish Johnson
Eight-time member of the Team Europe Solheim Cup team

Well Smith had to chase, but that didn't even clear the water. That was an absolute shocker - he can't believe it.

He's just done everything he needed to do on 11 and when it comes to the crunch all he's got to do is put some pressure on and find the middle of the green and he doesn't even pitch it on the other side of the bank.

  12. Smith in the waterpublished at 22:26 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -10, Smith -7 (11)

Oh no. Splash! Cam Smith's ball sinks in Rae's Creek and with it surely his hopes of a Green Jacket do this year too. Pushed it well right.

  13. Birdie for Fleetwoodpublished at 22:26 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Fleetwood +2 Kokrak +2 (14)

A couple of holes back Tommy Fleetwood collects his first birdie of the day.

The Englishman has just not been able to build any momentum.

    McIlroy -6, Morikawa -3 (16)

Just a par for Rory McIlroy on the 16th, when only birdies or better will realistically do.

  15. Smith cuts lead to threepublished at 22:23 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -10, Smith -7 (11)

Superb from Cam Smith. Aggressive at 11, after watching Scottie Scheffler take the more conservative approach and leave his approach right of the green, by going for the flag and then rolling in for a well-made birdie. A roar rings out around the pines!

Scheffler clips on but has seven or eight feet to salvage par here. How're your nerves? Ice cold, in it goes. The lead is three.

  16. Postpublished at 22:22 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    McIlroy -6, Morikawa -3 (15)

What can Rory McIlroy do on the 16th?

He looks anxious as his ball spirals up in the air over the water and evading the greenside bunkers to land with a thud just right of the pin.

Did he fancy that to roll down the slope slightly? Difficult birdie putt on its way...it misses right.

    That really needed to disappear.

  17. Dusting off the record books?published at 22:16 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    McIlroy -6 (15)

Some of the numbers being crunched because of Rory McIlroy's performance are incredible.

Here are a few more stats which the Northern Irishman, who started 10 shots behind Scottie Scheffler, is threatening to rewrite:

    • Largest final round comeback to win the Masters: eight strokes - Jack Burke Jr in 1956
    • Augusta course record: 63 - Nick Price in 1986 and Greg Norman in 1996
    • Augusta lowest final round: 64 - seven times, most recently by Jordan Spieth in 2018
    • McIlroy's lowest Masters round: 65 - round one in 2011 and round three in 2018
    • McIlroy's lowest Masters final round: 66 - 2015

Two huge drives from the final pair and they finish within a few yards of each other. Sociable golf.

  19. 'McIlroy needs some fireworks on the way home'published at 22:15 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    McIlroy -6 (15)

    John Murray
BBC golf commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

McIlroy knew that putt in 15th would dive to the right at the end - finished right behind the hole.

He will have to go to the 16th, and try and find some fireworks on the way home.

    McIlroy -6, Morikawa -3 (15)

Rory McIlroy is down on his haunches. Having got out of trouble down the left the Northern Irishman needs to dink a wedge over the pond and try to hold it on a fairly narrow stretch of green.

It looks like he was expecting that to check but it skips on off the back. Here comes his birdie putt. It is a whisker left.

Collin Morikawa, who is more than playing his part in an excellent pairing, tidies up for birdie from four feet.
