    Fleetwood +1 Kokrak E (7)

Tommy Fleetwood currently channelling his inner Sir Nick Faldo (Muirfield 1987). Seven holes. Seven pars.

Although his playing partner Jason Kokrak has at least broken the par-fest between them with a birdie on the seventh.

  2. Scheffler takes four-shot leadpublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -10, Smith -6 (4)

This is serious scrambling from Scottie Scheffler. He clips on from the back left of the green and leaves himself a gimme for par. Superb shot, and it only heaps the pressure on Cam Smith.

The Australian splashes out of the sand and has a six-footer for his par... but misses right! Just flirted with the cup before turning down the invitation.

Scheffler pokes in, the lead is four! Huge.

  3. Triple could end Lowry's hopespublished at 20:41 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Im -3, Lowry E (4)

And just like that, on one hole you have to think that Shane Lowry's race is run as he runs up a triple bogey six at the fourth after that awful tee shot.

That drops the former Open champion back to level par and now miles behind the leader.

Im Sung-jaw also makes bogey on four to slip back to three under.

  4. 'My mum is stubborn, where do I get it from?!'published at 20:41 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Woods +13 (F)

More from Tiger Woods here, speaking to Sky Sports: "It felt good [wearing the iconic red] I didn't know if I was going to wear it uncovered given it was 36 degrees this morning but it turned out I'm soaking wet from sweating out there. We couldn't have had a better day, given what has transpired this entire week with the weather and the changes - it went from hot to rainy to icy yesterday, to freezing this morning and an absolute perfect afternoon."

On the 25th anniversary of his first Masters win: "It's crazy. Some of these guys - Joaquin (Niemann), who I played with the first two days - he wasn't born yet! It's just crazy. This golf course and this tournament has meant so much to me and my family. The year I was born was the first year a black man played in Lee Elder. He got a chance to be an honourary starter last year before he passed.

"He was there when I ended up winning in 1997, my dad was there, my mum was there throughout this entire time - she's out there today - she's stubborn. She shouldn't have been out there, she shouldn't be walking, she has no business being up and down those hills - where do I get it from, right!"

  5. McIlroy moves into tie for thirdpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    McIlroy -3, Morikawa E (8)

Surely not? Rory McIlroy has to be too far back doesn't he?

However, he has all the shots in his golf bag to be a winner here. He flies into the trees off the tee but whips a brilliant second round the corner and follows it up with a belter of a wedge shot to seven feet. Four birdies in eight holes.

Collin Morikawa takes the more conventional and less scenic route to his birdie.

  6. Woods to play Open but undecided on US PGApublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

After playing his first official tournament since November 2020, in the aftermath of his life-threatening car crash last year, Tiger Woods has been speaking to Sky Sports about what his plan is post-Augusta.

He said: "I honestly don't know. Even like three weeks ago I didn't know if I was going to play the event. I have a lot of work to do. The endurance in the leg wasn't very good. It's sore as hell when I start out. When it gets warmed up it's good and I can hit good shots and then the endurance goes and I hit some pretty ugly ones. That's one of the things I'm going to have to work on and see what the schedule is."

Woods said he was undecided about next month's US PGA Championship at Southern Hills but would definitely play the 150th Open at St Andrews, where he won in 2000 and 2005.

"I won't be playing a full schedule ever again. It'll be just the big events. I don't know if I'll play Southern Hills or not, but I am looking forward to St Andrews - that is something that is near and dear to my heart. I've won two Opens there, it's my favourite golf course in the world. I will be there for that one. Anything in between that, I don't know.

"I will try and get ready and see what this body is able to do."

    Scheffler -10, Smith -7 (3)

Not happening off the tee for Scottie Scheffler at the moment, despite regaining his three-stroke advantage at the last, as he drags an iron left on the par-three fourth.

Cam Smith has gone right at the flag, but does it have the legs?! Not quite... that's in the bunker, a few inches more and he was on the money.

  8. 'That was a huge amount of luck'published at 20:37 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -10, Smith -7 (3)

    Trish Johnson
Eight-time member of the Team Europe Solheim Cup team

Scheffler tried the difficult shot - that was a huge amount of luck, and fair play to him.

To be fair to him, he played the shot that had a chance of stoppign somewhere near the flag. Cam Smith played the up route which was almost impossible to get anywhere near.

  9. Scheffler back into three-shot leadpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -10, Smith -7 (3)

Corr this is tricky for Cam Smith. Down the sloping green, it'll only take a tickle, but it leaks slightly right and the mulleted Australian follows up his opening two birdies with a bogey.

Scheffler's lead goes from one back to three.

  10. Birdie for Connerspublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Conners -2, Willett E (6)

Superb. Corey Connors hits it to a foot on the par-three sixth and taps in.

Only a par for Danny Willett, whose birdie putt stops an inch short of the hole. So unlucky.

  11. Birdie for Schefflerpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -10, Smith -8 (2)

Unbelievable! Is that the shot that effectively wins the Masters?! Wow. Scottie Scheffler, down the slope, bumps his wedge into the bank but it seems to pick up pace on its way to the flag and is travelling some what when it catches the flag pole and drops in for birdie!

How does Cam Smith respond from the same spot? He lofts on to the smooth stuff but it kicks on more than he'll have hoped and has work to do to save par here...

  12. Postpublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -9, Smith -8 (2)

    Almost identical!

Scottie Scheffler fails to clip his approach from the pine needles up the bank surrounding the third green and runs back down the slope, then Cam Smith follows suit with his.

  13. Postpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Conners -1, Willett E (5)

That's golf for you. A birdie putt that doesn't drop at the third, a scramble to save par at the fourth and then the inevitable bogey at the fifth, as Danny Willett is punished for needing to use his bucket and spade.

  14. Reload for Lowrypublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Im -4, Lowry -3 (3)

Oh no - it's a reload for Shane Lowry on the fourth as he carves his tee shot miles to the right and deep into the trees.

That could be gone, so the Irishman has to go and get another ball and have another dig just in case they can't find his first effort.

  15. Fans roar Tiger homepublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Woods +13 (F)

That was some reception on the 18th green for Tiger Woods. Most patrons would never have banked on seeing their hero when they bagged tickets for Augusta, but the five-time champion's remarkable comeback made it an emotional finale after four days of blockbuster golf. No, you've got something in your eye...

  16. Postpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -9, Smith -8 (2)

Looks like a drop for both players here, Scottie Scheffler's on the pines and Cam Smith's a touch up ahead on the longer cut. Both ended up fairly close with those drives in the end.

  17. Scheffler in troublepublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -9, Smith -8 (2)

Uh oh. The nerves must be coarsing around Scottie Scheffler's body right now and the world number one hooks another drive so far left it's deep in the pines and will take some finding.

Cam Smith has also gone left and looks to have come to a halt on the pines beneath the scoreboard.

  18. McIlroy on the marchpublished at 20:22 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    McIlroy -2, Morikawa +1 (7)

Oh my word. Rory McIlroy is really at it today.

He punches his second through the bunkers on the seventh and then sends a 30-footer back down the slope into the heart of the cup.

The patrons erupt and McIlroy gives a quick fist-pump.

Morikawa moves back to level par for the day after almost stiffing his approach.

Cameron Smith sunk six birdies on Saturday – taking him to 16 for the week

Scottie Scheffler might well be the dominant player in the world this year, but there is another on a hot streak who is not far behind.

Yep, you've guessed it. Cameron Smith.

Between the pair, they have won five of 2022's six strongest tournaments.

Smith, 28, started the year with victory at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, then claimed the Players Championship title at Sawgrass last month - the biggest event of the year before the Masters.

Today the mulletted Australian could join Tiger Woods (2001) as the only player to win the Masters and the Players Championship in the same year.

Oh, and he knows his way around Augusta.

Last year, when he finished joint runner-up, Smith became the first player to shoot under 70 in all four of his rounds. He also has three top-10 finishes in the previous four Masters.

  20. Smith cuts lead to onepublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -9, Smith -8 (2)

The birdie putt wriggles by from the leader, and here's a chance for Cam Smith to close what started as a three-stroke lead to just one within two holes.

Seven feet, starts it right and watches it break right on cue to find the hole for the birdie. Smith really is making a contest of this! Scottie Scheffler has played par golf but has surrendered two strokes already.
