    McIlroy -1, Morikawa +2 (6)

Rory McIlroy has missed two or three mid-range putts for birdie but what about this to save par.

The Northern Irishman has a tricky one from 12 feet through two different cuts of grass but rolls it in with aplomb. He looks relieved after seeing that drop.

  2. Postpublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -9, Smith -7 (1)

Scottie Scheffler splashes out of the sand at the par-five second, finding the back of the green. He's joined in a similar spot by Cameron Smith, who was way down the green and overcooked his eagle putt a tad there.

  3. Postpublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    McIlroy -1, Morikawa +2 (5)

Rory McIlroy isn't half giving himself chances to get back involved in the conversation but another birdie chance (well half a chance) evades him on the fifth.

Collin Morikawa looks to have nipped his approach in to a few feet...in typical Augusta fashion it drifts and drifts leaving the American with an awkward putt for par that never threatens the cup.

  5. Can we look outside of the final pairing?published at 20:09 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -9, Smith -7 (1)

The good news for fans of both Scottie Scheffler and Cameron Smith - or those who backed the pair of them at the start of the week (ahem) - is that 26 of the past 31 Masters champions were in the final group on Sunday.

Here a few other interesting lines for the stats fans among you:

    • This is the third consecutive year a player leads by at least three strokes entering the final round
    • The previous two - Dustin Johnson and Hideki Matsuyama - held four-shot leads, with Johnson winning by five in 2020 and Matsuyama winning by one last year
    • Scheffler and Smith are the first final pairing of world top 10 players at a major since the 2015 PGA Championship (Jason Day and Jordan Spieth)
  6. Postpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Conners -1, Willett -1 (4)

A touch of scrambling for Danny Willett and Corey Conners on the long par-three fourth which has played a shade over par in all four rounds.

Willett goes long and Canada's Conners finds the sand off the tee but both come away unscathed.

    Scheffler -9, Smith -7 (1)

The leading pair are in good shape off the tee at two, both finding the fairway. Scottie Scheffler hooks his approach though and that looks to be heading for the a bunker guardian the green to the left. Cam Smith, having out-driven the world number one, just about avoids the sand on the right and is on the green in two. Lengthy eagle putt to come.

  8. JT hands a shot backpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Schwartzel -2, Thomas -1 (3)

Justin Thomas hands a shot right back after coming up just short of the green with his second to the fourth and he can't save his par from there.

  9. Postpublished at 20:05 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Conners -1, Willett -1 (3)

Danny Willett had a habit of laughing to himself on Saturday and he's at it again. The 2016 champ can't quite believe his birdie putt on the third has stayed up.

Corey Connors, who made birdie on the second, scoots his second through the green and ends up with five.

  10. Tiger finishes offpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Woods +13 (F)

The birdie putt does not drop but Tiger Woods closes with a par to complete a remarkable four rounds of golf on his comeback after that horrific car accident last year.

He's clapped and hollered all the way into the scorers' hut, there are patrons lining every little bit of the rope to catch a glimpse of the five-time champion, who leaves with a slight limp and will no doubt be glad to put his feet up after another enduring walk round Augusta National.

    Fleetwood +1 Kokrak +1 (4)

Tommy Fleetwood has not made a birdie yet today but my that is close.

Playing from the far left of the green the Englishman swishes a wedge of some description and sends his ball hopping across the green to within an inch or two of the cup.

That par will feel like a birdie.

  12. Birdie for Smith, lead cut to twopublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -9, Smith -7 (1)

That's wonderful from Scottie Scheffler, some touch and buckets of composure to dink on just past the pin for what should now be par, and it is.

Cam Smith is not fazed and rolls his birdie attempt straight into the heart of the cup. Delightful. The lead is cut to two. Game on.

  13. Postpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Schwartzel -2, Thomas -2 (2)

Justin Thomas makes a birdie on the second to join Charl Schwartzel on two under - but the par from the South African is even better as he holes out from the bunker for a five!

    Woods +13 (17)

Going to be some scene as Tiger Woods strolls up to the 18th green. He's done the walk many times before on his way to claiming a Green Jacket but there will be just as rapturous welcome for him on his comeback.

The cap comes off, the patrons are on their feet and applause and whistles ripple around Augusta. Lovely stuff.

  16. Birdie for Willettpublished at 19:52 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Conners -1, Willett -1 (2)

Nice that from Danny Willett, who tickles an 11 footer in for birdie.

  17. Lowry misses early chancepublished at 19:51 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Im -4, Lowry -2 (1)

A pair of pars for these two as Shane Lowry just fails to knock in a birdie putt that would have given him the perfect start.

Being so far back like Lowry you really need to take every chance you can get.

  18. Postpublished at 19:50 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Scheffler -9, Smith -6 (19:40 BST)

Scottie Scheffler manages to punch one out of the trees but it runs off the back of the green and he has a tricky up-and-down to come if he is to salvage par.

Cam Smith tickles a wedge just beyond the flag, leaving himself around eight feet for a birdie.

Will we see a two-shot swing on the opening hole here?!

    McIlroy -1, Morikawa +1 (4)

Birdie, par, birdie, par. Rory McIlroy will be happy with that start and on another day might be two more shots better off.

He takes an aggressive approach to the pin, going straight at it and lands his tee shot on the top mound of the near bunker and sees it trickle down on to the dancefloor but he can't knock that one in from 20 feet or so.

Reigning Open champion Collin Morikawa comes up short and pays the price with a bogey.

  20. Double bogey for Tigerpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Woods +13 (17)

Unfortunately for Bryson, and Tiger..., he's just witnessed Woods make a double bogey on the 17th to take him to 13 over. Four days of major golf may well be taking their toll.
