    Burns -3, Spieth -2, Young -3 (7)

Another one looks to have bitten the dust.

Cameron Young was tied fifth after four successive pars, but a double bogey on the par-four seven sees him sink quicker than a coin lobbed into a fountain.

Tugging his drive left takes him on a scenic route, going over the back with his third and unable to recover.

  2. Pars all roundpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Koepka -13, Rahm -9, Bennett -6 (6)

I'm not sure Jon Rahm's knees knock, but if they did they would've on that tester down the slope for par, which he sinks to stop the rot after two straight bogeys.

Koepka sticks in his as well - he doesn't miss those, especially not in this mood, as he's strolling around Augusta looking in total control.

  3. Postpublished at 19:46 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Burns -4, Spieth -2, Young -5 (6)

Who is going to rein in the leaders and stop this being a two-horse race?

Someone out of this group might have been fancied to make a strong gallop at the start of the third round.

None of them have made a move yet, with Jordan Spieth falling off the pace.

  4. Postpublished at 19:46 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Koepka -13, Rahm -9, Bennett -6 (5)

Rahm had the line but didn't give it enough juice from the top of the hill, with all thise rain around the greens are slowing up even with the SubAir system Augusta has.

Koepka can't make his either, so it's over to Sam Bennett who got a little bit too excited and pummels the ball through whatever break he was playing and is up and out of it immediately looking disgusted with himself.

  5. Morikawa punished for wayward tee shotpublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Morikawa -6, Hovland -5, Day -4 (6)

    Collin MorikawaImage source, Getty Images

A loud moan accompanies Collin Morikawa's tee shot on the sixth. It's almost into the patrons down the left and means he's struggling as his second, a chip and run stalls on the moist putting surface.

The American prods his putt for par right.

  6. Postpublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Koepka -13, Rahm -9, Bennett -6 (5)

It's a ripper from Sam Bennett on the sixth, which remains as tough a par three as they come, and he'll have the best birdie look of the three with Koepka about pin high but wide right while Rahm has gone big, and can't believe his ball didn't fall back down the hill towards the hole.

  7. Wrapping up on the coursepublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

The weather might be miserable at Augusta but it doesn't wipe the smiles off the faces of our BBC Radio 5 Live friends... :D

Trish Johnson getting the mittens out shows how chilly it is.

  8. Another bogey for Rahmpublished at 19:34 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Koepka -13, Rahm -9, Bennett -6 (5)

The fifth is a brute in these conditions, with Koepka finding the front of the green from the pine straw and Rahn steps on a long iron from the fairway but can't get it much closer, so they both face long, snaking putts on this big undulating putting surface.

Rahm then lets his par putt slide by the right edge for a second straight bogey - and Koepka then pops his in to lead by four.

  9. Postpublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Scheffler -2 10*

Scottie Scheffler is ticking along nicely, making few mistakes but also not quite finding the range required with his irons to give himself some makeable birdie chances over the last few holes.

His approach into the first underlines the point, zipping in past the flag but without any real spin on the ball to bring it back towards the front-left flag.

  10. Saturated greens?published at 19:30 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Mickelson -5 (7)

    Augusta NationalImage source, Getty Images

I've just seen a replay of the Phil Mickelson par putt on the seventh. It was 10 feet. The ball stopped three feet short. He jabbed at the surface of the green with his putter.

Augusta have this brilliant sub-air drying system that is no doubt working at full tilt today but surely the greens can only take so much moisture and if putts are being affected to that extent... I don't think I've ever seen a pro leave such a short putt so short!

  11. Hovland and Day drop backpublished at 19:27 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Morikawa -7, Hovland -5, Day -4 (5)

Shared frustration for Viktor Hovland and Jason Day on the fifth as they both drop shots.

The Norwegian takes three putts and the Australian slides a putt past after looking like he'd retrieved the situation with a fine wedge into six feet or so. A pair of bogeys a piece now for this duo in the first five holes.

Collin Morikawa also looks a tad disappointed as a 12-foot birdie putt goes high on the right to only leave him with a par.

  12. Bogey for Woodspublished at 19:26 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Woods +5 (14*)

Good job Tiger is wearing his deep-sea fishing gear. Still bucketing it down at Augusta.

After that opening bogey on the 10th, Woods had steadied the ship with three successive but drops another one on the 14th.

The five-time champion sinks to the bottom of the weekend crowd.

  13. Bogey for Philpublished at 19:24 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Mickelson -5 (7)

Phil Mickelson has shot 67s in each of the three LIV events that have taken place so far this year, without challenging for a title.

He opted against doing a pre-Masters news conference this week and was reportedly unusually quiet at the champions dinner on Tuesday evening.

The only thing he has said this week is that he feels like he's going to shoot low soon. Is that going to be today?

Well, it's a bogey on seven after finding a greenside bunker with his second shot. It's a decent splash out, spinning back to 10 feet. But two putts from there

  14. Another bogey for Rosepublished at 19:19 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Rose -4 (7)

    Justin RoseImage source, Getty Images

Justin Rose gives both of the shots he's gained today back to the course thanks to a wild drive into the trees on seven. All he can do is chip it out, find the green and then two-putt for a bogey.

  16. Double bogey for Spiethpublished at 19:16 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Burns -4, Spieth -2, Young -5 (5)

This could be the end of Jordan Spieth's challenge.

We know the 2015 champ can throw in an abomination of a hole - this is it.

A wild drive right goes into the trees and the still of the TV pictures make it look like the American is currently on an Amazonian expedition.

He's forced to knock three off the tee and ends up with a double bogey.

  17. Postpublished at 19:13 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Scheffler -2 9*

Scottie Scheffler recovers from a trip into the pines on 17 to make his par and does the same at the 18th which is playing slightly longer in these conditions.

He didn't look massively happy to leave a 52-feet putt for birdie on 18 but judges the pace pretty well to get to two feet and tap in.

  18. Mistake from Rahmpublished at 19:13 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Koepka -13, Rahm -10, Bennett -6 (4)

    Jon RahmImage source, Getty Images

Bad error from Jon Rahm from short of the front bunker as he blasts his pitch right through the green and over the back.

He manages to get up-and-down from their though to make it just the one shot dropped but not what was needed as Koepka saves par from the sand to make it a three-shot lead.

  19. Birdie for Philpublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Mickelson -6 (6)

    Phil MickelsonImage source, Getty Images

It might be tipping it down at Augusta National, but Phil Mickelson is still sporting his shades.

You've got to bring the game if you're going to come out in sunnies under the greyest of skies and Phil is doing just that.

His tee shot at the par-three sixth is back edge of the green, working hard to get better. Still leaves him with a 35-footer for birdie. In it drops. Suddenly in a tie for fourth.

  20. Morikawa makes a movepublished at 19:05 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Morikawa -7, Hovland -6, Day -5 (4)

    Collin MorikawaImage source, Getty Images

A big whoop as Collin Morikawa fizzes his iron shot into six feet on the par-three fourth.

And then an even bigger cheer as his birdie putt disappears. The two-time major winner has his sights on Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm.

Jason Day drops back after whacking his tee shot way left and then failing to knock in from eight feet.
