On Sky Sports, Andrew Coltart has just been asked how he fancies Rory McIlroy's chances at Hoylake next week. His reply:
"We've waited nine years [for a McIlroy major], I don't think we'll be waiting 10."
McIlroy -15 (68)
Do you fancy some Rory McIlroy facts and stats following that win? Of course you do...
McIlroy -15 (68)
Rory McIlroy has been giving his thoughts to Sky Sports following that remarkable Scottish Open win:
"Really proud. That was such a tough day, especially the back nine. Really proud of how I stuck in there, I hit some really nice shots down the stretch. It's been a long six months since I won in Dubai, and hopefully that breaks the seal for me."
When asked about his approach shot to the 18th green, he said: "Four iron was only getting to the front of the green, so I hit two iron and it came out perfectly - probably the best shot I've hit all year.
"I knew the putt was going to get to the hole because it was downwind. I thought it might have been missing left, but it hung on in. It's amazing for the race to Dubai, for the Fedex, and for my own confidence as well."
MacIntyre -14 (64)
A word for Bob MacIntyre.
McIlroy will take the headlines, but MacIntyre was the standout player today. He played some simply stunning golf in the toughest of environments, and showed he can mix it with the game's very best.
I'm sure we'll hear from him in the not too distant future.
McIlroy -15 (68)
McIlroy then, to win the tournament...
And in it goes! Birdie, birdie to finish - what a player he is.
His first professional win on Scottish soil, and the perfect prep for the Open Championship next week.
McIlroy -14 (17)
Tom Kim and Tommy Fleetwood to putt first.
McIlroy, MacIntyre, and the eyes of the golfing world will have to wait...

Here's that stinger...
So, so good.

Gulp. That's how to hit a stinger.
McIlroy -14 (17)
McIlroy is between clubs here, has a 20mph wind back into his face, and his ball has found an old divot.
After a quick conversation between player and caddie, he punches an absurdly good iron shot under the wind to within birdie range.
It's a shot that us mere mortals can only dream of. MacIntyre threw down the gauntlet, and McIlroy has more than answered.

With a play-off in the offing, MacIntyre heads to the range for a wee limber-up.
The man himself looks nice and calm, but the whole of Scotland's nerves are absolutely fraying for him.
McIlroy -14 (17)
Rory McIlroy's drive flirts with the left-hand rough, but he's inside it on the shorter stuff, and is in an excellent position for his second shot.
Meanwhile, MacIntyre is out on the range, staying loose in case of a play-off.
This is seriously good.
McIlroy -14 (17)
McIlroy's birdie putt is expertly judged, and he will go down the last tied for the lead with Bob MacIntyre.
MacIntyre nods in approval from the clubhouse.
McIlroy -13 (16)
So, Rory McIlroy now needs to birdie at least one of the last two holes, and they're two of the toughest on the course.
His tee shot at the par-three 17th is just what the doctor ordered - a gorgeous iron shot that follows the contours and makes its way down close to the hole.
Big chance coming up for McIlroy. Bob MacIntyre watches on in the clubhouse...
McIlroy -13 (16)
Beautiful touch from Rory McIlroy, who floats his pitch to a few feet of the hole.
He takes his time, but pulls the putt wide of the hole.
Tom Kim and Tommy Fleetwood aren't done yet - they both drain decent length birdie putts.
Kim is at -12, with Fleetwood one further back.
McIlroy -13 (15)
Rory McIlroy goes with a driving iron for his second shot into the par-five 16th, and it looks good, but just gets snagged up short and left of the green.
Can he get up and down for birdie?
MacIntyre -14 (64)
MacIntyre -14 (64)
Bob MacIntyre taps in for a glorious birdie and he heads to the clubhouse to sign his card as the outright leader.
To shoot 64 in those conditions today is frankly remarkable - a stunning round with the pressure at its highest.
He's seriously emotional - and you can understand why. Tears in the eyes, perhaps as he realises what he's just done.
McIlroy -13 (15)
Rory McIlroy will be unaware of Bob MacIntyre's heroics down the last, but the world number three makes a steady par at 15 to stay at -13.
And the Northern Irishman smashes a big high draw down the 16th fairway to leave him a good look at the flag with his second shot.
