Cheddar came out very strong in the opening round but Davison matched her for workr ate and it was the accuracy and punch selection that was the difference.
She will be really pleased, a real confidence boost for the GB camp. It was an excellent display. It couldn’t have gone any better.

Once again Bradly showed the resilience, the mental fortitude that no matter what the situation is he can always come back from behind. He was seven points down at one point and he pulled it back and now Bradly Sinden is Team GB's first medallist of this Olympics.

Bradly's key to victory is really that close range, he got close to his opponent, and he is really good at mixing in those headshots. He is very good at getting his leg around from those awkward angles.

Women's road race
Great Britain's Lizzie Deignan, who finished 11th, on BBC TV: "It was a weird old day, I was between a rock and hard place really. From midway through I was on my own but unfortunately on my own but also marked so I didn't have the freedom to ride as a solo rider. Tactically I think I did the right thing it just didn't go my way.
"It was a weird race, although there are small teams there are agendas within team. Because the race is so hot and so humid all of the moves were a bit blunted, there wasn't that kind of spark. It was a defensive race but still really hard.
"I'm obviously really disappointed but I have the perspective that I put myself in the position to be here, I have had a great team behind me. We have had a pandemic and we have still had an Olympics and there is so much to be thankful for. "
