    Anna Kiesenhofer earned a shock gold medal in the women's road race earlier, but adding further to what was already a remarkable race was the fact Annemiek van Vleuten appeared to believe she had won when crossing the the finish line - Kiesenhofer's break came so early the Dutch rider did not know the Austrian was up ahead. Instead it was a silver medal for Van Vleuten.

    He did it in the first match, quarter final and now he has made it in a semi-final that looked like a lost cause with 40 seconds to go, he's made it a massively clear win.

    He finds another gear, he's a dangerous athlete to come up against.

    Another head shot from Bradly Sinden! It edges him ahead once more in a tense final round, Zhao Shuai gives it everything but cannot stop the Team GB fighter pulling away and it's the 22-year-old from Doncaster who is into the Olympic final!

    Sinden takes a thrilling 33-25 victory over his Chinese opponent. Brilliant stuff.

    What a performance from Anna Kiesenhofer, who takes a shock gold medal in the women's road race having led all day - unbelievable stuff from the Austrian, a monumental effort.

    She takes a surprise victory by more than one minute from Dutch rider Annemiek van Vleuten, who collects silver, and Italy's Elisa Longo Borghini is home in third for the bronze.
