England have only one player with more than 50 caps out there today, hooker Dylan Hartley. Ireland have quite a few. Owen Farrell gets the game under way for England, Devon Toner underneath it. Scrum...

The England players are in the tunnel and are emerging now. The Irish already lined up, it's a mess out on the pitch, fire, smoke, standards, a marching band, it looks like the precursor to a 19th Century battle. Anthems...

England head coach Stuart Lancaster speaking to BBC Sport: "The boys enjoyed the walk in, it was great for the fans and the players as well to get the buzz of the game before they went into the quiet dressing room.

"I'm not sure about them [Ireland] being marginal favourites. I think we are pretty confident there's no doubt they have made tremendous progress though. They have got a lot of experience and two wins from two games they are in good shape."

Big tussle today expected between David Wilson and Cian Healy in the front row, while Jonny Sexton versus Owen Farrell could also be key at fly-half. Sexton had a stormer against Wales, although you wouldn't expect Ireland's pack to be as dominant today against England.

Alex Dunbar, who scored two tries for Scotland, speaking to BBC Sport: "It's a huge achievement for the boys. We have had a tough few weeks but it shows the attitude of the side to come here and win.

"We created a lot today and I was lucky enough to finish a couple of them off. There were a couple of mistakes on the far side, near the end, and we just needed to get the ball in the middle. Luckily we managed to do it and score the drop-goal."

    Tom Fordyce
    Chief sports writer at Twickenham

"A bright blue midday turning to a chill late afternoon in south-west London. Bars and marquees rammed all the way back along the London Road, and a genuine thrill in the air - this fixture carries enough weight in any year, but with the two teams appearing too close to call, the young bucks of England and the grizzled legends in green, this could be a rare vintage."

The Irish have only sealed a Triple Crown at Twickenham once before, in 2006. Given their performance against Wales in Dublin a fortnight ago, it would not be a surprise if they did so today. Ireland are unchanged from that fixture, while David Wilson has replaced the injured Dan Cole at tight-head-prop for England.

England versus Ireland is the second oldest international rugby fixture, dating back to 1875. England have 73 wins to Ireland's 46 from 127 previous encounters. Those of you who are stats-inclined might be interested to know that England full-back Mike Brown has made 183 metres so far in this season's tournament, more than any other player...

After losing three Tests in a row to Ireland, England have won the last three (two in the Six Nations). Ireland did not score a try in any of those three defeats. However, Ireland have won on three of their last five trips to Twickenham, having won only once in 10 previous visits dating back to 1982.

    Ireland's Brian O'Driscoll

Many thanks Neil, this is Ben Dirs. And so to Twickenham, where England are bidding to derail Ireland's Grand Slam hopes while keeping their title hopes on track. Irish centre Brian O'Driscoll will equal George Gregan's record of 139 international caps, which is 33 more than England's entire back division. We could also see a debut for Bath fly-half George Ford, who is on the bench.

    Sir Ian McGeechan
Former Lions coach on BBC One

"It was composure when it mattered. I thought Scotland's second half was probably the best attacking 40 minutes they have put together in the last two or three seasons. It would have been a travesty if they had not won this game. Credit to the forwards. They carried the ball to Italy. Dave Denton coming on made a difference and Richie Gray was outstanding. They provided the platform from which Scotland could win."

Duncan Weir, who scored the winning drop-goal, speaking to BBC Sport: "It's all a big blur to be honest. We had a few chances to go for it. I was in the pocket and 'Cus' [Chris Cusiter] gave me a lovely ball and the rest is history. You just have to go back to basics, get your ball drop right, and I managed to execute it. It's a great feeling and I am delighted for the boys we have come away with the win.

"We can kick on from here now. Against Ireland we showed some good attacking play, but we let ourselves down by conceding some soft tries.. We are not going to mention the England game but we have come here, it's never an easy place to come, we have won and we can enjoy it."

    Andy Nicol
Former Scotland scrum-half on BBC One

"Wow! What a kick! Has that just turned Scotland's season around? That is hugely important for Scotland and well played. They upped the intensity in the second half, got the two tries and they kept their composure and turned it around. That really could have just turned everything around."

That's it. Confirmation that Scotland have their first Six Nations win of the campaign after Duncan Weir's last-gasp heroics. They will remember this for a long time to come.

  18. DROP-GOAL (Weir)published at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2014

Oh, what drama! Scotland win a scrum and it looks like they might even earn a penalty. But there are 15 seconds left on the clock when Chris Cusiter gets the ball back to Duncan Weir, who is waiting in the pocket. The Glasgow fly-half keeps his composure to send a sweetly-struck drop-goal between the posts. Glorious.
