England captain Chris Robshaw: "Plus 50 points is what we wanted to do. It's just a shame we conceded that try. I'm really proud of the boys and the way they've played all tournament. Now we just have to sit and wait. We always knew it would be tough. We were focused, ready and came here with the objective of getting 50. We left a few opportunities out there but that's one for another day. Unfortunately we conceded. If we hadn't we'd have been in a good position."

Former England coach in Rome on BBC One

"This is an exceptional England team that is going places and this is a tournament they're trying to win. I was just surprised that they made a lot of substitutions when they had a lot of momentum going. If they'd kept kept the same team on the pitch I wonder whether they'd have got the job done. In the last 15 or 20 minutes, they made a lot of substitutions when the Italians were out on their feet."

"That was a try handed on a plate. What a way for Chris Robshaw to end the tournament. He's developed his leadership and has been a credit throughout."

"The thing we talked about before the game was what got England in the end - the danger of the intercepted pass when you are trying to force play. It really took the steam out of England right when you were thinking it was possible."

Ambition from Italy as they attempt to break free from their own 22 but they lose possession. Great footwork by replacement George Ford and he finds his captain Chris Robshaw who dives over without an opposition player anywhere near. Owen Farrell converts to ensure he ends the match with a 100% record with the boot.

Another England line-out from a similar position. Courtney Lawes beats everyone to the ball, but it isn't an ideal platform from which England can attack. England are still 15 points adrift of Ireland on points difference.

Manu Tuilagi can be relied on to make territory. Jack Nowell, too, carries the ball into opposition territory and replacement Dave Attwood breaks clear. Italy's retreating defence somehow bring him down in full flow.

Under 10 minutes remain of this match and momentum is with Italy. The hosts, though, mess up a line-out on the England 22 and the visitors attempt to run it out. The best form of defence is attack, it seems.
