    Leigh Halfpenny

Wales stretch their lead to seven points after a little indiscipline from the Japan pack gives Leigh Halfpenny a straightforward chance with the boot.

    Joseph try, Ford con

A magnificent seven! And the easiest of the lot. Fiji's Cornishman Josh Matavesi overplays near the halfway line, chucking a loose pass straight into the hands of Jonathan Joseph. What an opportunist. He races clear, shows his heels to the chasing Fiji defenders and goes under the posts.

George Ford could knock over the extras with his eyes closed. That's what he does. Knock the ball over. Not with his eyes closed.

    Brilliant hands. Absolutely brilliant hands.

It was quick, quick ball. That is the difference.

    Kenki Fukuoka, con Yu Tamura

Brilliant from Japan as they go straight up the other end to hit back.

The visitors win the ball back from the kick-off and after three quick passes it's winger Kenki Fukuoka who is over in the corner.

Cracking kick from Yu Tamura to add another two points from wide out, too. Game on.

That is what Wales needed and it is the two stalwarts that have done it.

  7. converted try

Converted try - Wales 24-13 Japanpublished at 52 mins

    Sam Warburton, con Leigh Halfpenny

It's the skipper stepping up for Wales, but that try was made by Alun Wyn Jones who won the line-out and several phases later took an offload to break through the Japan defence.

He has Sam Warburton on his shoulder, and a smart inside pass sends the number seven over to increase Wales' lead.

That was a genuine walk-in try.

Rokoduguni had to finish it off, he has to pass the ball. It was basic, schoolboy stuff to pass to Elliot Daly to score.

But England recycled really well and Goode drops over the line.

My goodness... Eddie Jones will not be happy with that.

    Goode try, Farrell con

Another England try, another first-time scorer. Full-back Alex Goode bags his first Red Rose try, popping up on the right to dive over from Mako Vunipola's flat pass. Fiji are stretched by some more sharp England attacking.

Twickers is a bit quiet. Everyone's probably having a post-feed nap. Now they've been woken up! Semesa Rokoduguni is the man who does it, stretching those legs to make 40-odd metres with a powerful cross-field run.

Should he have passed to Elliot Daly on his left shoulder? Probably. But England have good field position.

    Wales 17-13 Japan

That's good defence from Alex Cuthbert to make a covering tackle as Japan look to work an overlap on Wales' right.

He forces the huge Amanaki Mafi to try and make an awkward offload and the Japan number eight knocks on.

    Eddie Jones will be fuming.

It is ill-discipline. It is something that I would expect Eddie to pull Vunipola off for as a punishment.

The TMO cranks his video player into life. A couple of angles tell him what he needs to know. And that's Mako Vunipola did cause an obstruction to allow Dylan Hartley to crash over. As you were.

That was a beautiful training ground move.

England are not backing off tackles but they are just giving Fiji a little more yardage to build momentum - they are not stopping them at source.

England have got to cut out the mistakes and keep the ball.

    Metuisela Talebula try

Not heard many strains of 'Swing Low' at Twickers this afternoon. Oh dear, when we do hear an English rallying call it quickly tails off... Fiji have gone over again!

Whatever Paul Gustard said at the break clearly didn't sink in. Metuisela Talebula powers over, despite Owen Farrell's best attempts.

  19. Penalty - Wales 17-13 Japanpublished at 43 mins

    Leigh Halfpenny

Wales immediately in the ascendancy in this second half after that Japanese mistake from the kick-off. A quick break ends in Japan giving away a penalty and Leigh Halfpenny strokes it over to increase the hosts' lead.
