    Wales 30-30 Japan

So close for Alex Cuthbert. He hares after a deep kick and beats Amanaki Lotoahea to the bouncing ball on the ground as both players slide along the wet turf.

But it bobbles up off Cuthbert and goes forward to give Japan the put in at the scrum five metres from their own line.

Still life in England here. Elliot Daly's grubber kick forces the Fijian full-back to carry the ball into touch. No chance taken with Semesa Rokoduguni's breath on his neck.

Hang on, Fiji aren't ready for home yet. Replacement hooker Peni Ravai thinks he is over, the referee thinks otherwise.

Chris Parry: Why does Gareth Davies think that kicking the ball continuously to the Japanese is a good idea?

Paul Doré: Epic show from Japan. Come on lads!

The bench for England have been magnificent.

It would be easy to come on and play loose but the replacements have come on and definitely made a difference.

    Well, well, well.

If you don't put Japan away they come back to bite you.

We have five minutes and the Japanese will chuck everything at Wales now. Wales have to pick the intensity up now.

Converted try - Wales 30-30 Japanpublished at 74 mins

    Amanaki Lotoahea, con Yu Tamura

Things have kicked back into life in Cardiff.

First Liam Williams sends a little chip and chase in behind the Japan defence and gathers up superbly, but the next pass goes loose and Williams' opposite number Kotaro Matsushima scuttles away.

Japan keep the ball alive and go right to Amanaki Mafi, who chucks a pass inside almost Harlem Globetrotter-style for Amanaki Lotoahea to gather after a brief juggle and touch down in the corner. It's all square.

That is total rugby from England.

    Launchbury try, Ford missed con

England are having more fun than a schoolkids on a trip to the zoo.

England ask questions of the Fiji defence down the right, down the left, down the middle. George Ford is the one pulling the strings, like a rugby version of Rod Hull.

He goes right again, Billy Vunipola squaring a pass to Joe Launchbury and the Wasps lock goes over for England's ninth try. Simples.

  11. Penalty - Wales 30-23 Japanpublished at 70 mins

    Leigh Halfpenny

It's like Christmas has come early in Cardiff. Wales hand Japan a chance to add three points, so Japan return the favour almost immediately.

The game's gone a little stale, but that's because all these penalties have made the last 10 minutes very stop-start.

Not that Leigh Halfpenny cares, mind. He accepts Japan's penalty gift with open arms and an accurate boot to increase Wales' lead to seven points again with 10 minutes to play.

    England 53-15 Fiji

How many Elliot Dalys are on the pitch? I've seen him everywhere. The England wing pops up on George Ford's right shoulder in midfield, bursting past a static Fijian line. Someone does manage to lay an arm on him though, stopping him teeing up another England try.

You feel every time England get the ball in a little bit of space they have too many runners.

It is like England have 17 players on the field.

  14. Missed penalty - Wales 27-23 Japanpublished at 66 mins

    Yu Tamura

Wales' discipline is slipping here and they concede another penalty after being caught offside following a Kotaro Matsushima up and under.

Yu Tamura doesn't half take his time over his kicks, and this time it's wasted as he puts the penalty well wide from 40 metres plus.

    Rokoduguni try, Ford missed con

    Rok'n'roll.

England go over again, Semesa Rokoduguni goes over again.

The Bath wing has almost an entire postcode near the right touchline, George Ford delivering with a beauty of a long pass that misses out three dark blue shirts before landing on Rokoduguni's doorstep. Simples.

The more I see Elliot Daly the more I think he is an international class player.

    England 48-15 Fiji

England are razor-sharp with the ball in hand. After winning the ball on the right, replacement conductor Danny Care orders his team across the hall. Care, George Ford and Alex Goode link up, Elliot Daly waiting on the touchline. He dances around his Fijian marker, but runs out of grass to score.

  18. Penalty - Wales 27-23 Japanpublished at 62 mins

    Yu Tamura

Yu Tamura has been spot on with the boot today and keeps things tight in Cardiff with another penalty.

Neither side can get a real grip of this one, it could be an exciting finale. Or a nailbiting one, depending on where your allegiance lies.

That was far too predictable from Fiji and there was no need to do it.
