    England 0-0 Australia

The green and gold retaining possession, going through the phases, they're in England's half... into the ninth phase... Israel Folau with a touch, making territory... Australia looking menacing, but here comes Mike Brown, snatching the ball from the floor...

But oh my! Chaos! Stand by!

    England 0-0 Australia

    Paul Grayson
    Ex-England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

For an international goal kicker that is standard.

If Foley has got a weak spot, the kicking tee can let him down.

  3. Postpublished at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    England 0-0 Australia

    Matt Dawson
2003 World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 live

Australia have to do that. Start fast and be controlled and accurate.

They have to do something different today.

  4. Missed penaltypublished at 3 mins

    England 0-0 Australia

Bernard Foley, the man who repeatedly stuck the dagger into England's World Cup dreams last year, has a relatively straightforward kick - but he botches it. Deary me.

  5. Postpublished at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    England 0-0 Australia

A fine kick-off from Australia, Ben Youngs into touch, a first line-out for the visitors and it's clean... captain Stephen Moore with a dash on the fringes of the 22 with the sound of 'swing low' ringing in his ears...

A toot of the referee's whistle early, though, as England collapse in the maul.

  6. Kick-offpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    England 0-0 Australia

Toot! Toot! Toot! Referee Jaco Peyper adds spit to whistle to get this match under way.

Bernard Foley boots the ball into enemy territory.

A record-equalling win for England? An unblemished record for 2016? We will find out in 80 minutes or so. Oof, the anticipation...

  8. Five minutes to gopublished at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    England v Australia (14:30 GMT)

The players are on the turf on what is a beautiful day in south-west London - clear skies; cold and crisp but with winter sun.

It's a full house at HQ, which makes for a vociferous rendition of England's national anthem... Mike Brown, chest puffed out, on the verge of bursting a blood vessel as he sings with gusto.

    We're nearly under way.

England's opponents have also made a change at number eight - Lopeti Timani's inclusion being one of four changes.

Nick Phipps replaces the unavailable Will Genia at nine while Kane Douglas and Sefanaia Naivalu are also included.

I think that's the team news sorted...

Unsure of who will be dressed in white this afternoon? Help is at hand.

I can tell you that England have made two changes from last weekend - Nathan Hughes and Marland Yarde the fresh faces.

Hughes replaces Billy Vunipola at number eight with winger Yarde coming in for the suspended Elliot Daly.

  11. Build-up doesn't give us an edge - Jonespublished at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    England v Australia (14:30 GMT)

Interesting pre-match interview with Eddie Jones on Sky Sports.

Asked how his build-up "shenanigans" gives his team the edge, he said: "It doesn't give us an edge. We have prepared as well as we can. We have a job to inform the media and we have done that."

And asked if he and Michael Cheika will still be friends: "Definitely. I'll put my red nose on and make sure we are friends."

He added: "Traditionally autumn games between England and Australia are tight. I imagine this game will be decided in the last 20 minutes.

"Being dominant at set pieces is important for us and to attack with accuracy and in the right areas. Defending-wise we have got to be ready for all of their options.

"I think this is my toughest test [as England manager]. It is always great to play Australia at Twickenham."

    England v Australia (14:30 GMT)

I know what you've been wondering, it's something that's been on the nation's mind for the last 24 hours: what does James Haskell think, his words a soothing balm as we come to the end this most unpredictable of years.

Well, as it happens (and this is just a coincidence), the injured England back-rower has been speaking to us here at the BBC as part of his latest column.

"I expect Saturday's game to be more like the third June Test, which was much more open," says the Wasps forward. "It will start with real intensity but then we should see both teams looking to attack."

  15. What a difference a year makespublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    England v Australia (14:30 GMT)

Twelve months, eh. Let's take our minds back to the autumn of 2015, when England, under the guidance of Stuart Lancaster, were knocked out of their own World Cup, booted out of the competition by the Wallabies. England torn apart, humiliated.

A year later, a new coach, a new world order, and Eddie Jones' England are 13 games unbeaten and counting. One more win would equal the England record of 14 consecutive victories, set by Sir Clive Woodward's team in 2003.

As we've said, history could be in the making.

  16. '80 minutes from the beach'published at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2016

    Paul Grayson
    Ex-England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

It is the fifth game of the autumn for Australia.

Physically, they are 80 minutes from the beach. It has been a tough schedule for them.

But players get their motivation wherever they need it, whether it is backs to the wall, fear of failure or playing for future and what your team is aiming for.

Australia can say, 'OK we have not won five out of five but ruining England's party is enough'.

    Chris Jones

Eddie Jones creates these narratives in the media.

It is all about him setting the tone, creating a siege mentality in his side.

That is what he has done ever since he spoke after the Argentina game last week.
