    England 13-0 Scotland

Mark Bennett fields a deep kick and the Scotland stand-in full-back shows some Hogg-esque twinkle toes to evade the chase.

Finn Russell then plays with fire, slinging a long pass wide in the shadow of his own posts.

England centre Jonathan Joseph is sniffing around looking for an interception and is not far away as Scotland finally regather.

The first bit of front-row handbags.

England get the shove on Scotland at scrum-time to turn over possession.

Dan Cole and Gordon Reid pop up to discuss the decision and it quickly escalates to shove, push and hold-me-back.

The cards stay in the referee's pocket and we go on.

At the end of the day Scotland are getting absolutely hammered.

    England are in total control.

    That's not a knock-on.

An England player has knocked it out of Finn Russell's hand.

If anything, it's a Scotland scrum.

    England 13-0 Scotland

    A worrying sight for Scotland.

Stuart Hogg is up the tunnel for a head injury assessment.

Mark Bennett is on in his place for the meantime.

    Finn Russell is probing.

The Scotland fly-half flings a pin-point mis-pass out to John Barclay.

But from the next phase, Russell bites off more than he can chew, taking on Joe Launchbury and seeing the England second row slap the ball out of his grasp.

Jonathan Joseph might feel he has a point to prove to England boss Eddie Jones after being left out against Italy.

His try-scoring ability is certainly doing the talking. Since the beginning of 2016, the Bath centre has scored nine tries for his country, over twice as many as any other England player.

If you're John Barclay now, you're getting the boys round and saying we cannot allow sloppy penalites at the breakdown.

It's tough enough to get any kind of points and Scotland look bereft of ideas in the England half.

The drop-goal attempt was a win for England.

  9. Penaltypublished at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2017

    England 13-0 Scotland

Owen Farrell thumps through the middle to crank the scoreline a little wider.

After a quarter of an hour this is a scoreline from the bad old days of Scottish rugby.

    England 10-0 Scotland

    Gavin Hastings
Former Scotland full-back on BBC Radio 5 live

Scotland had 15 or 16 phases but was very slow and very deliberate. Finn Russell had a dreadful attempt at a drop-goal. Scotland are lacking ideas and putting themselves under pressure.

They need to be more creative. England will lap this up.

    England 10-0 Scotland

Hamish Watson gets on the wrong side of the ruck and cannot get out of Ben Youngs' way despite the referee's urgings.

Penalty against the Scotland flanker and this is kickable.

Certainly Owen Farrell thinks so as he points to the posts.

    England 10-0 Scotland

Huw Jones attempts to poke a kick through the white-shirted forest in front of him.

No way through. England hack up to halfway through Ben Youngs.

And Scotland hooker Fraser Brown is back on the pitch after serving his sin-bin time.

  14. Postpublished at 12 mins

    England 10-0 Scotland

Finn Russell drops for goal... charged down... but regathered by Scotland.

This is excellent damage limitation from Scotland with a man in the bin.

Can they get some points from it?

  15. Postpublished at 11 mins

    England 10-0 Scotland

Scotland are building the phases with heavy runners close the fringes of the breakdown.

They are just inside the England 22m and taking their time to set up the move and position they want.

    England 10-0 Scotland

Finn Russell with a crafty grubber turns the England defence, sending Jack Nowell scampering back into the corner.

The chase is good and Nowell chops his kick into touch under pressure.

Scotland line-out inside the England 22m.

Elliot Daly is back on after his assessment by the way. Two minutes remain of Fraser Brown's sin-bin.

Aren't England supposed to be slow starters? Not on this evidence. Eddie Jones' side have raced out of the blocks, dominating possession, territory... and the scoreboard.

Scotland need a few spades to dig themselves out of trouble at the moment.

If there are any kids watching out there, England are making the pass and give look like school-ground drills.

They are really sharp, quick, going through the hands... bang, bang, bang.

Their momentum is killing Scotland at the moment.
