    I guess not.

The pugnacious Australian, sharp of tongue, glinting of eye, has arrived at Twickenham with his team.

"They know how to move the ball and they can kick well so we know it's going to be a tough old game," he said of today's opponents Argentina.

A glorious day in the Scottish capital and the unfamiliar surreptitious sound of “buy or sell tickets”.

Touts don’t normally do much business at Scotland v Samoa games, however with 65,500 fans expected today it is a different story.

There is a discernible buzz because Scotland are going for a fifth successive home win and their best run of home success since 1991.

A visit from the Samoans is the closest thing on earth to a trip to the chiropractor, given that bones are visibly displaced in tackles.

And so Scottish fans queue nervously, but in record numbers, for a tussle with Samoa to see new coach Gregor Townsend preside over the 11th meeting between the sides.

Scotland have won eight of those encounters, narrowly so in the most recent of them at the 2015 World Cup in Newcastle. Much has changed since then.

Two inexperienced front rows, two sets of backs who visibly shake with excitement at the open field, and two sets of marauding back rows should provide a feast of open-field action.

Townsend won't want to start his time in charge with players coming off second best, or slowest to the breakdown. They will need to be patient, not patients.

Edinburgh prop Darryl Marfo will make his Scotland debut in Saturday's autumn Test against Samoa at Murrayfield.

The 26-year-old moved to the capital in June on a one-year deal and Gregor Townsend admits he "didn't know much" about the loose-head before the summer.

Hooker Stuart McInally makes only his fourth Test start in the absence of the injured Fraser Brown and Ross Ford.

Ben Toolis joins Jonny Gray in the second row, with fit-again Alex Dunbar and Huw Jones resuming at centre.

However, the likes of Greig Laidlaw, Richie Gray and Sean Maitland are all missing.

Scotland XV: Stuart Hogg, Tommy Seymour, Huw Jones, Alex Dunbar, Lee Jones, Finn Russell, Ali Price (all Glasgow Warriors); Darryl Marfo, Stuart McInally, WP Nel, Ben Toolis (all Edinburgh), Jonny Gray (Glasgow), Barclay (captain - Scarlets), Hamish Watson (Edinburgh), Ryan Wilson (Glasgow).

Replacements: George Turner, Jamie Bhatti, Zander Fagerson, Tim Swinson (all Glasgow), Cornell Du Preez (Edinburgh), Henry Pyrgos, Peter Horne (both Glasgow), Chris Harris (Newcastle).

Gregor Townsend took over a promising Scotland side from Vern Cotter having built an enterprising Glasgow outfit over at Scotstoun himself.

    A recipe for success?

A 24-19 win away to Australia in the summer has got the Murrayfield faithful dreaming.

This is Townsend's first outing on home soil with the national team.

    North v south.

    Up-the-jumper hard-nosed old-school slog-in-a-bog v fast-ground free-running mis-passing all-court.

Autumn used to be about a clash in styles.

Nowadays though, those in the soggy north fancy themselves with the pill in hand as well as on the tee.

Time to take the temperature of the global game and what an opening afternoon of rugby we have got for you....

    T-minus two years.

Rugby World Cup 2019 is 678 days away.

    Sounds a lot?

For the northern hemisphere teams, it is about 20 games of rugby - a little more than half a club season - before we are into summer 2019 and the final preparations.

For all those players hoping to make the trip to the land of the rising sun, it is time to make sure they are on a similar upward trajectory...
