I think the line speed from the Welsh is putting us under a lot of pressure. It’s not what we’re used to so that’s a ploy from the Welsh to try to rattle the Wallabies and put them under pressure.

  2. Penalty - Halfpennypublished at 17:25 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Wales 3-0 Australia

Leigh Halfpenny's chances were limited for the Lions during the summer, but he's Wales' go-to man and he gets them off the mark.

A long effort sails between the uprights for three.

South Africa being World Rugby’s favourite for 2023 World Cup gives an interesting political backdrop to this game. I’m expecting a big, physical contest today and there’s a bit of pressure on the Springboks after poor autumn internationals last year.

They need to front up. Ireland have played very well in the past two autumns and this could be an exciting encounter.

A worrying moment there for the visitors as Reece Hodge's kick is charged down by Wales wing Liam Williams.

But Bernard Foley gets back to clear the danger, as Wales are on the attack again.

Bundee Aki's selection has been the source of some controversy in Ireland.

This is what the man himself had to say about his nationality last year:

"I’ve enjoyed Irish culture and stuff like that but it’s wrong for me to say I’m Irish," Aki said., external

"It’s wrong for me to take away from the guys who were born here and who want to play for the Irish and are Irish. I’m just here. My ambition is to play international."

Joe Schmidt has had no qualms about throwing the cannonball runner into the mix.

"Sometimes where you're born is less relevant than where you're invested over the last period of time," said the coach.

"He's just doing what he loves doing, and what he's good at."

Wales will be very happy. First an Australian knock-on at the line-out and now a penalty. It gives them a chance to attack.

A second scrum in quick succession and this time it goes the way of Wales.

Australia have pinned them back in their own half so far, but the penalty relieves the pressure.

Wales are sloppy again in attack, Taulupe Faletau with a second knock-on, but they are throwing the ball about.

It's a scrappy start from Wales, and they were the ones who arrived at the stadium on time.

Centre Owen Williams on only his second cap sends a sloppy pass out to Taulupe Faletau, who can't pick up and we have our first knock-on.

Minute two and we're already at the scrum.

England try-scorer Semesa Rokodoguni speaking to 5 live: The main focus today was for us to pick up where we left off last time. There's a lot of positive outcomes and some negatives too so the quicker we can learn from our mistakes the better we will be.

It was nice to score. The pack gave a perfect platform for the backs to work off and it was a job well done to get the ball out so I could get the try.

The final word before kick-off goes to Wales coach Warren Gatland, speaking on BBC Two:

"I'm really excited to be back. We've had a couple of good weeks together with a few fresh faces in the squad, who are now getting their chance at home.

"Looking at the size of the Aussie team, they're massive. Everyone is talking about countdown to World Cup and playing different styles. It's an opportunity to see how Owen Williams can get on, with a ballplayer at 12."

You may be wondering why there are empty seats in the stands.

Due to heightened security checks at the stadium and traffic on the Cardiff streets, supporters are being delayed.

Australia were also apparently a little late to the ground.

I doubt they'll get off to a slow start though...
