CJC: Oh my god that boy [Huw Jones] can finish.

Chris: Who doesn't enjoy watching something unexpected unfurling in front of their very eyes? It's a rugby equivalent of Wigan vs Man City again.

Michael Perkins: England look cold... Time for some hair dryer treatment?

The half-time whistle blows and Scotland's players head to the sheds with a vertigo-inducing 16-point lead.

These boys are 40 minutes from folklore.

And, by the look in Greig Laidlaw's eyes, they know it.

It's a tidal wave of emotion and sentiment. England at the moment are staring down the barrel of a defeat.

    Scotland 22-6 England

    Chris Paterson
Former Scotland international on BBC One

It's a loose pass and Huw Jones is the one who reacts first. It's a good break, he's looking for support, and then at the last moment he thinks 'I'm going for this - route one'.

  5. 'Magnificent try from Jones'published at 17:32 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    Gavin Hastings
Former Lions and Scotland full-back on Radio 5 live

That was as good an individual try as you will see anywhere in the world. That was a magnificent try from Huw Jones.

    Huw Jones (con Laidlaw)

    Oh my giddy aunts.

Huw Jones - who is another Scot to deliver an enormous first 40 minutes - burst through some paper-bag tackling in midfield.

For a moment he looks for support. Then he throws caution to the wind.

Head down, ears back he goes for the line and, with thighs pumping and Mike Brown and Anthony Watson dragging behind him, he makes it.

And a routine two for Greig Laidlaw.

Murrayfield floating somewhere over the Firth of Forth.

  7. 'England are rattled'published at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    Matt Dawson
Former Lions and England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

England are absolutely rattled. England's defence is all over the show, there's no structure in attack and it's come because Scotland are passing well, making the right decisions and making yards.

John Barclay with another massive turnover.

The Scotland flanker has been harder to shift than than week-old chewing gum over the breakdown.

Joe Launchbury threw his whole weight into the Scotland man and he went nowhere.

Nick Hughes: England are all over the place, so many mistakes. It's as if they've turned up forgetting Scotland always get up for England at home, naivety or arrogance. They need to wake up!

Flower of Scotland is swirling around the Murrayfield stands as another England period of pressure ends with Mike Brown penalised for taking out a man beyond the ball.

John Barclay and Finn Russell both grin wide at their opponents, relishing the decision.

Eddie Jones lauded his side's ability to grind out a result earlier this week. They will need that today if they are to win. This is a real test.

Joel Newham: I came to watch England - are they here?

Dave Somerville: What a try for Maitland - it's a joy to watch Scotland playing like this!

James Hale: Finn Russell like Kevin De Bruyne in that move.

Try - Scotland 15-6 Englandpublished at 31 mins

    Sean Maitland

    It stands!

The score was all set up by a delicious long mispass from Finn Russell that set Huw Jones scampering down the left wing.

England's defences scragged him, but couldn't reorganise and, after Stuart McInally had made yards down the centre, Sean Maitland was the man over on the opposite wing.

A massive score. Even without the tricky touchline conversion from Greig Laidlaw.

  16. Russell key for Scotland's hopespublished at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    Gavin Hastings
Former Lions and Scotland full-back on Radio 5 live

Scotland won't beat England by playing their normal game. They need someone like Finn Russell.

He has had some below-par performances but that won't stop him today. He's an excellent passer of the ball and if he can cut out the small mistakes he will become a very consistent player.

The first shot of Eddie Jones up in his perspex box. The England coach is keeping his poker face on, but it will have been sorely tested by Mike Brown's loose pass, flying beyond Anthony Watson and into touch.

England have not clicked at all yet in attack.

Danny Care's total lack of game management and control is showing why he's usually the finisher scrum half (with Ben Youngs the usual starter). England should have started with Richard Wigglesworth at 9.

A dominant display so far at Murrayfield from the home side. But how long will it continue?
