    A slightly happier Eddie Jones?

I think the video debrief session is going to be an 18 certificate.

Japan have made England look slow, clumsy and one-dimensional at times with their quick hands and smart tactics.

That is Richard Wigglesworth down to a tee.

A perfect box kick, he sends it right up into the air, Jamie George does excellently to tip it back to the scrum-half who plays in the powerful Cokanasiga.

What a moment for the 21-year-old.

That's made the game safe. Richard Wigglesworth is 35 now so good on him.

He chased his own box-kick, got as much yardage as he could and realised he wasn't going to get there. You're not going to stop Joe Cokanasiga from that distance.

Joe Cokanasiga is the man with the debut score, but this is all about replacement scrum-half Richard Wigglesworth's street-smarts.

The Saracens hangs up a pinpoint box-kick bomb. The chase is good and the ball bobbles out of the aerial contest and into the mitts of Jamie George.

Wigglesworth is on the scene to scamper up the right wing before feeding inside of Joe Cokanasiga to crash over.

    Two more for George Ford.

    England 23-15 Japan

England have got their defence set and steady. Combined with slow ball, that clogs up the Japan attack.

Courtney Lawes clamps down over the top of Will Tupou to secure a vital turnover.

Kenki Fukuoka is sprung by some slick hands in the Japanese backline and Jack Nowell only just hauls down the wing by his bootlaces.

Penalty Japan. They tap and go. They are 10 metres short...

    England 23-15 Japan

Kritt Normsaskul: The main focus in training for England following this performance must surely be to stop giving so many penalties away. And stop kicking the ball all the time!

Gregory Taylor: Good comeback England, not an easy game but this a good proper test match.

    George Ford

Is England's fitness and strength of bench starting to show?

George Ford pokes over a penalty to put his team more than a converted score clear.

But this has been heavy weather rather than the expected light work.

    England 20-15 Japan

    Ugo Monye
    Former England winger at Twickenham

Good pressure from England, the Japanese team is starting to look fatigued but they're still making the cheap easy yards in the wide channel.

It's a good kick from George Ford and good chase from Wilson, this is a great platform for England now.

    England 20-15 Japan

    Danielle Waterman

England still need to play with control, they need to play in the right areas of the field and be on the same page.

The guys coming off the bench have added a different level of intensity. There's tries there to be had but they still need to play with patience and control.

    England 20-15 Japan

Japan are still alive and alert, tapping and going when awarded a midfield penalty.

Michael Leitch still doing his wing impression out wide.

But there is a fumble from Ryoto Nakamura and England have a scrum down 30 metres out with a healthy blindside to play with...

Much better momentum from England there. Four or five decent punches into the heart of the Japanese defence and then a nice little inside ball from Ford.

Converted try - England 20-15 Japanpublished at 58 mins

    Mark Wilson (con Ford)

More control, more poise and more points for England.

Replacement Kyle Sinckler flicks a pass onto fellow pine-rider Sam Underhill to set up decent platform.

Quick ball, outside burst from George Ford and a lovely inside ball for Mark Wilson to walk over from 10m.

    Ford converts his own try.

George Ford has kept the kicking tee and duties despite Owen Farrell's introduction off the bench.

And he lands one from out wide and 40m to cut the tourists' lead to two points.

Those are England's first points since Jamie George's sin-binning early in the first half.

    Incredible once again from Japan.

Right from phase one they're trying to disrupt any set piece ball for England, they're taking away England's time, power and oxygen.

What looked like a very promising position for England has resulted in a penalty kick for Japan and they've cleared 40 metres down the field.

Ford looks indecisive, he's not quite sure what he wants to do in terms of releasing his outside backs. That split-second is allowing Japan to get more people on their feet to defend.
