  3. Sin-bin - Jamie Georgepublished at 19 mins

    England 7-3 Japan

Harlem-Globetrotters stuff from Japan. They have come here to chuck the ball about and entertain.

One break from deep, triggered by a hot-dog pass through the legs and then the visitors snaffle an interception through wing Akihito Yamada.

England stretched wafer-thin and Jamie George is off his feet as he slows up the ball.

    Yellow for the Saracens hooker.

    England 7-3 Japan

    Ugo Monye
    Former England winger at Twickenham

Japan have had a go, a few line-outs a couple of scrums and they've got nowhere.

That's a credit to England but Japan will be disappointed they've been in England's 22 for 10 minutes and haven't took their chances.

They'll take the three points, they'll be happy to be on the board.

  6. 'Keep it in hand'published at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2018

    England 7-3 Japan

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

They cut their losses Japan, after putting England under a bit of pressure. England need to get their hands on the ball.

If they're going to dominate this game, they've got to look for turnovers and make them stick. If you get an opportunity to counter-attack, keep it in hand.

  7. Penalty - England 7-3 Japanpublished at 15 mins

    Yu Tamura

England have been all over the shop discipline-wise.

That is the fourth penalty conceded by the hosts and, after kicking to touch from better position, Japan opt to take the shot at the sticks.

Yu Tamura is good for direction and distance (just).

  8. Postpublished at 13 mins

    England 7-0 Japan

Japan have wing Kenki Fukuoka feeding into the scrum. Innovative stuff.

But he is caught by suprise by the speed of the hooker's strike. Loose ball at the back of the scrum and Fukuoka is scragged by Courtney Lawes.

Maro Itoje burgles the breakdown and turns over for England.

  9. Postpublished at 12 mins

    England 7-0 Japan

Jamie George puts in a big shoulder to nudge Japan fly-half Yu Tamura into touch in the corner.

But England are leaking penalties all over the pitch.

Another arm against the host from referee Paul Williams.

This time Japan opt for scrum five out...

  10. 'You'd expect bigger shots from England'published at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2018

    England 7-0 Japan

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

Japan can play some attritional rugby. Mark Wilson's given away two penalties already for England, but there's no width to the Japanese attack at the moment so you'd expect England to put some bigger shots in and try to force a turnover.

  11. 'England have gave them the chance'published at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2018

    England 7-0 Japan

    Ugo Monye
    Former England winger at Twickenham

For England first defensive enquiry from Japan and they give away three penalties on the bounce.

Japan weren't threatening much, England have gave them the chance here.

They've got nothing to lose and England need to switch on defensively or this team can hurt you.

    England 7-0 Japan

Maro Itoje is pinged for an offside as Japan plough into a 13-man drive.

Japan go for the line-out again...

  13. Postpublished at 8 mins

    England 7-0 Japan

    Ugo Monye
    Former England winger at Twickenham

That's exactly how you turn defence into attack.

The awareness from Elliot Daly, he finds Cokanasiga outside for a two on one and what a support line from the hooker Jamie George, a simple offload inside to Danny Care and a great start for England.

Cokanasiga could of tried to go himself, you heard how excited the crowd were as soon as he picked the ball up, it's great to see the moment hasn't got to him and he's played the offload.

    England 7-0 Japan

    Danielle Waterman
Former England women's international on BBC Radio 5 live

You can't underestimate how much pressure Joe Cokanasiga is under to perform in front of this crowd. But I'm sure with a player like George Ford inside him the communication will have been there to give that pass.

  17. try

Converted try - England 7-0 Japanpublished at 4 mins

    Danny Care (con Ford)

That is a really well-worked team try from England.

Elliot Daly gathers a kick, cuts inside to draw a couple of defenders and feeds Joe Cokanasiga out wide.

The Bath wing thunders forward, but keeps his wits about him and spots the easiest way to skin the cat is via an inside pass to Jamie George, who in turn feed Danny Care to scamper in.

    Extras from George Ford.
