Scotland are 12-3 down but defensively they've been outstanding 99% of the time. The first try was an error from Scotland with a bad pass, and then just a little bit of great play for the second, but I don't think Ireland have made the gain-line yet - they've just got to keep that up, but they have to score.

  2. 'Scotland hitting Sexton every time'published at 25 mins

    Scotland 3-12 Ireland

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland international on BBC One

I'm out of breath watching this game. Johnny Sexton has just come off and he is getting up slower and slower because Scotland are coming up quick and hitting him every time.

  3. Wounded Sexton replacedpublished at 25 mins

    Scotland 3-12 Ireland

Sexton has been struggling with injury since the opening try and is replaced by Joey Carbery. Both teams now missing a key play-maker.

  5. Forward pass...published at 24 mins

    Scotland 3-12 Ireland

In fact, there was a forward pass earlier in the move, from Huw Jones to Blair Kinghorn.

The TMO spotted it and alerted referee Romain Poite.

Back we come for an Irish scrum on the 10m line.

  6. Flamboyant Finnpublished at 24 mins

    Scotland 3-12 Ireland

    That's better from Scotland.

Jamie Ritchie pounces on a knock-on around halfway and steams forward.

Finn Russell shows some outrageous composure and vision to bamboozle one defender then stab a teasing grubber-kick in behind the Irish line.

Tommy Seymour gathers it, but it looks to have gone forward as he attempted to give the scoring pass to Sam Johnson.

We're checking with the TMO to find out exactly what happened...

    Quote Message

Scotland actually look decent in attack, but Ireland are clinical, it's at simple as that.

Dave: Losing Hogg and then conceding Stockdale's try might well knock the stuffing out of Scotland - such a shame after such a bright start

Paul: That was some try from Ireland. Great line and pace from Stockdale

  10. 'Big boots to fill'published at 21 mins

    Scotland 3-12 Ireland

    Chris Paterson
Former Scotland international on BBC One

Stuart Hogg is such a world star and he is a brilliant attacker but Blair Kinghorn scored a hat-trick last week and he is in good form. He has big boots to fill.

  11. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Scotland 3-12 Ireland

    More frustration for Scotland.

The home side win a penalty and try to maul their way over again, but a knock-on stymies their progress.

Ireland celebrate the spillage like a try and it all gets a wee bit niggly.

  12. 'Quality' move from Irelandpublished at 20 mins

    Scotland 3-12 Ireland

    Colin Gregor
Former Scotland Sevens captain on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

It's a real quality attacking move from Ireland, they go left to right then back inside to Sexton, he links with Stockdale, clinical, and Stockdale has so much pace that it's easy

  13. Jacob's golden touchpublished at 20 mins

    Scotland 3-12 Ireland

    Tony Ward
Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio Ulster

It's amazing that midas touch that Stockdale has but it may have come at a price for Ireland because Johnny Sexton had to take a big hit from Allan Dell to put his winger away.

Stockdale's try-scoring record is just unbelievable and that was such a super line by the winger.

  14. converted try

Converted try Scotland 3-12 Irelandpublished at 18 mins

    Jacob Stockdale

Brilliant! What a try from Ireland!

A very clever backs move brings Jacob Stockdale searing off his wing to take a pop pass from Johnny Sexton.

The winger speeds all the way home from 50m. Outstanding stuff.

Conor Murray, not Sexton, adds the extras.

    That's Stockdale's 13th try in 16 Tests. Hell of a record, that...

  15. Hogg outpublished at 18 mins

    Scotland 3-5 Ireland

    A colossal blow for Scotland.

Stuart Hogg is limping off, having appeared to tweak something. Blair Kinghorn, last week's hat-trick-scorer, is on.

George: How did Scotland lose the ball in the first place?

Pagey: That is a very bad period of officiating. Shoulder charge Kearney? Hogg taken out? Obstruction? Forward pass? Then a try

  17. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Scotland 3-5 Ireland

Scotland are under self-inflicted pressure again as a loose pass is intercepted by Sexton and kicked deep by Farrell.

Greig Laidlaw kicks his team clear and Sexton's bomb is comfortably taken and marked by Stuart Hogg.

  18. Seymour and Maitland get in a muddlepublished at 15 mins

That was the right idea for Scotland in terms how to deal with that danger. Seymour and Maitland just weren't on the same wavelength.

  19. 'It's not a fair reflection of the game'published at 12 mins

    Scotland 3-5 Ireland

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland international on BBC One

Ireland weren't going anywhere, and from nothing, they get a try. I don’t think it’s a fair reflection of the game but they will take it. Considering where they have been in the field, they come away with five points.

  20. try

Try Scotland 3-5 Irelandpublished at 11 mins

    Conor Murray

Oh dear. That's a shocker from a Scottish perspective.

How many botched kick receipts have we seen in this championship already?

Ireland coughed up possession initially, Stuart Hogg kicked ahead and claimed he was taken out.

Back came the visitors, Jacob Stockdale booting in behind Tommy Seymour. The winger tried to pass to Sean Maitland, who was in no position to take it.

The bouncing ball was gleefully scooped up by Conor Murray, who ran the last few metres to the whitewash and scored.
