Try - England 39-10 Argentinapublished at 80 mins

    Luke Cowan-Dickie (con Farrell)

A shove-over try and a little bit of push and shove afters as the gong sounds...

Luke Cowan-Dickie was at the bottom of the mountain of muscle. I'm not sure what sparked the bit of trash talk and pointed looks afterwards, but England are quite angry.

Tom Curry and Maro Itoje are taking particular exception. And Pablo Matera goes in for a bit of extra.

The post-match handshakes might be a little lacking in sincerity.

A little over a minute to go and Owen Farrell opts for a kick to the corner rather than at the posts. The crowd appreciate that.

England's Sam Underhill has been named man of the match. Fair enough. He has been very good.

Whatever Jack Nowell is made of, he bounces off tackles. He went and found some space and had the skill to finish off with one hand. Brilliant.

Jack Nowell is a big game player and he has to be in this England side.

He can play in the midfield or on the wing and he can even run around at full-back. He is a class above.

    Jack Nowell (con Farrell)

That blond Cornish kid sure plays a mean pinball.

Jack Nowell, fresh off the bench, makes an immediate impression, cutting in off the right wing, bouncing through a mob of Pumas and diving into the corner.

    A brilliant finish.

Is he Eddie's joker off the bench for the knock-out stages? Versatility and impact is a punchy cocktail.

Thomas Knights: In the last 20 minutes England's rugby has been pretty appalling and look like the team missing a man. The big teams won't be worried watching this second half performance.

Josh Verrills: Bonus point win is all that matters but England have been far from impressive against a 14-man Argentina. Second half we have lacked any form of creativity or impetus whatsoever

  8. 'Clean finish'published at 10:54 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    England 25-10 Argentina

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

Argentina went off the top and run the switch. Mako Vunipola is caught short at the back and it's a nice clean finish by the Pumas.

Converted try - England 25-10 Argentinapublished at 71 mins

    Matias Moroni (con Boffelli)

    That was nice from Argentina.

A move off a line-out with more interlacing lines and pace than a Red Arrows display.

England's defence is shredded off first-phase ball, not a look that defence coach John Mitchell wants in his wardrobe, and wing Matias Moroni scampers beneath the sticks.

    England 25-3 Argentina

Argentina looking a little more dangerous as Bautista Delguy and then Emiliano Boffelli dart into space.

But Argentina look out of ideas. An aimless punt to the skies is gobbled up by Elliot Daly.

  11. Replacementpublished at 68 mins

    England 25-3 Argentina

Eddie Jones is going to give his first-choice 10-12-13 combination from the Six Nations an outing for the final few minutes.

Henry Slade replaces George Ford and Owen Farrell will move inside to 10.

Jack Nowell, another who is back from injury, is also on in the England backline.

  12. 'Not in control'published at 10:46 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    England 25-3 Argentina

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

As soon as Courtney Lawes leaves the ground he can no longer change direction and he is not in control.

Everyone is desperate to get off the defensive line quicker but you lose more control.

    England 25-3 Argentina

Coutney Lawes is probably a bit fortunate here.

The England second row was already apologising as he made contact with Emiliano Boffelli, having attempted to charge down the Argentina full-back's kick and followed through into the man.

Nigel Owens decides it is only a penalty. I think the Pumas wanted more.

    England 25-3 Argentina

Agustin Creevy gives England's front row a bit of chatter after the Argentina pack win a scrum penalty.

Mako Vunipola arches an eyebrow in response.

Emiliano Boffelli misses his kick to the corner though to waste the chance for Argentina.

And Mako Vunipola gets his first taste of the World Cup sashimi.

Billy's big brother aggravated a hamstring problem in a World Cup warm-up Test.

And Joe Marler is limping a bit as he comes off. England need him fit to cover both sides of the scrum. Eddie Jones went light on prop cover when he packed his World Cup squad.

And Argentina have made another half-back change, putting fly-half Benjamin Urdapilleta out of his misery.

On comes Lucas Mensa, normally a centre. It might be that Jeronimo De La Fuenta shuffles inside to 10.

Dan Cole is coming on for Kyle Sinckler in the front row for England.

The atmosphere was crackling before the game but it has just ebbed away as it has become obvious that there will be no upset today.

Lewis Ludlam is showing up well at this World Cup. A very good rumble from the Northampton man. A little too good for his own support. Agustin Creevy gets over the top first and forces the turnover for the Pumas.
