After the Tier Two caveats of the their first two games some will give England another asterisk here for facing 14 men. But they have found a rhythm and a menace that belies any carping: the power of their ball-carriers, the potency of their counter-attacking and the control of their forwards giving Eddie Jones every reason for a half-time Cheshire Cat grin.

Tomas Lavanini's tackle technique has been under the microscope already in this tournment.

The Argentina second row got away with an apparently clear shoulder charge on Tonga's David Halaifonua during the Pumas' win earlier in the pool stages.

Referee Jaco Peyper decided that he had no case to answer. Plenty disagreed.

Tomas Lavanini got it horribly wrong and he has no excuses. He went too high and he has done nothing other than put his team in the mire.

There is always going to be a little bit of fight in a side that lose a player. But England got their heads together and worked out where they wanted to manipulate the space.

Threats all over the field. Manu Tuilagi to Ford and Farrell's right, Billy Vunipola carrying the ball. Ben Youngs is in a good mood, took the game by the scruff of the neck. A clean kill from England, what price 20 phases in these conditions - not many teams have been able to do it.

That's the way England would have wanted to do it. They've controlled the field.Totally dominant over Argentina in that first half.

    Try - England 15-3 Argentinapublished at 40+1mins

    Ben Youngs

It was Ben Youngs who scored the decisive try in the teams' 2011 World Cup meeting.

This is a similar score. A snipe around the side of the breakdown, past a tiring Javier Ortega Desio, and he is in for the try.

I don't think this will prove to the telling try this time around though. England are well set for a comfortable win.

It would be a more comfortable margin at the break had Owen Farrell brought his kicking boots.

A fourth miss of the tee is the final action of the half.

Really nice. They'll be glad Elliot Daly scored that as I counted three two-on-ones - Billy Vunipola and Jonny May missing easy opportunities to finish. They'll get away with it today, but England need to be a little bit more clinical earlier on.

Beautiful finish from Elliot Daly. England painting lovely pictures from the initial attack - if Jonny May butchered it first time, it was not to matter as England drew their forwards and they swung the ball out to Owen Farrell who gave it to Daly and his slight juggle actually played into his own hands in the end.

A lovely show of the ball, stop and go, great acceleration. England in.

    England 10-3 Argentina

Argentina are still firmly in Nigel Owens' bad books.

That is a brain-dead penalty for Javier Ortega Desio to give away. The Pumas number eight picks up both Tom Curry's legs to remove the England flanker from the midst of a rolling maul.

You can't do that. And if you are going to, be more subtle.

England kick the penalty down into the Pumas' 22m.

Try - England 10-3 Argentinapublished at 35 mins

    Elliot Daly

The old one-two punch floors Argentina.

The forwards piling round the corner sucks in the defence and then Ben Youngs looks to his backs.

Elliot Daly is in space, but looks like he might have fluffed the chance as he juggles once and then twice.

But, if anything, his initial mishandling seemed to throw opposite number Emiliano Boffelli.

Daly grabs hold of the ball, steps on the accelerator and roars through a gap for the try.

Owen Farrell, who has been poor off the tee so far, fluffs the conversion.

Argentina are still in this fight. Pablo Matera fights to offload and manages to shovel onto Jeronimo De La Fuente. Half a gap. And Matias Moroni can't convert it something more significant, spilling forward.
