Anthem time. Argentina first up. Long instrumental intro to this one, Mario Ledesma in the stands stands ram-rod straight as the brass pumps out. Here come the words. And the volume. That was loud.

And England respond in kind. Massive decibels from the team on the pitch, special tip of the chapeau to Lewis Ludlam and Kyle Sinckler who really ripped it.

A pensive tug of the beard from Joe Marler and we are ready to go...

  6. 'England have strength on bench'published at 08:57 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    England v Argentina (09:00 BST)

    Matt Dawson
England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

What stands out for me is the strength of the England bench - only three have less than 20 caps.

When it comes down to those championship minutes at the end of the match, the power England can bring on with those extra eight players might be too much for Argentina.

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

They're regrowing a team. England have a relatively young team at an average 27 and a bit, Argentina are actually younger than that - they can look at their development over the next four years to the 2023 World Cup.

England stroll into the tunnel with game faces on.

Argentina are a little different. Their replacements and backroom staff line up to give the starting team a guard of honour consisting of bouncing, singing support on their way out of the dressing room.

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

The RFU have gambled an enormous amount of cash on Eddie Jones to ensure the England team have every available penny. But as we get to this game, as a former player, it's about the 30 blokes that start.

    England v Argentina (09:00 BST)

    Matt Dawson

The dominance England should have around the set piece should allow them to blow Argentina away.

They have to do something different because if they come out and play the way they have been playing, England will be bulldoze them over.

  19. 'Best conditions in the tournament'published at 08:40 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    England v Argentina (09:00 BST)

Eddie Jones and Owen FarrellImage source, Reuters

Speaking to ITV, England head coach Eddie Jones said: "We want to tuck into them early. If you look at the conditions, they are probably the best we have had in the tournament so far. The heat is coming down and there isn't much humidity so I think there will be a bit more ball movement today.

"We always focus on set pieces, it is the hallmark of our game. Every game at the World Cup is about winning but if you just focus on the win you haven't got the right mindset. We know there are plenty of things to do before we can get to that area."
