  1. 'It feels like one of our best-ever seasons'published at 22:19 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

    FT: France 23-27 Scotland

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend tells BBC One: "I'm so proud of the team. They came here with a bit of adversity with not our full squad, an injury to one of our starters on Wednesday, a yellow card, a red card, we had to come back against a very good side, but they showed courage, effort, togetherness, and skill to win. A great end to a really promising season for us.

"Even though we finished fourth, it feels like one of our best-ever seasons with the victories we've had this year and the performances tonight especially.

"That's now been the last two years we've been competitive in every game. We've grown a lot this year, grown a lot this campaign, and we've got to continue to grow over the next few years."

  7. Not since 1926published at 22:15 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

    FT: France 23-27 Scotland

It was in 1926 that Scotland last won at Twickenham and in Paris in the same championship. Wow.

  8. Reaction coming nextpublished at 22:11 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

Reaction starting to tumble in from a jubilant Scotland cap. Stuart Hogg looks close to tears as he talks about being captain of a "very proud nation" in his post-match interview.

Wayne Pivac has a sponsors board hastily erected in his living room, barely obscuring a pair of curtains, as he tells the BBC how happy he is. After the 2020 the Wales head coach endured, winning the championship is a huge step forward.

I think that sums up the Six Nations - it's been incredible, the games have gone to the wire,. We've had controversy, red cards, yellow cards. I don't know what else you want from a game of rugby.

  13. A fitting finalepublished at 22:04 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

    FT: France 23-27 Scotland

The most ridiculous Six Nations ends in madcap fashion. How fitting that the last game should come down to a try at the death, to a clutch play and a moment of class, bottle and ruthlessness.

A see-sawing tussle where the lead changed hands over and over. We're watching replays of that last try now and wondering why on earth Brice Dulin didn't just boot the ball out when France won it back with the clock red.

    Ach, who cares?

  15. converted try

Converted try France 23-27 Scotlandpublished at 21:59 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

    Duhan van der Merwe

THEY'VE DONE IT. HOODOO = SMASHED

This is incredible. It's colossal. It's absolutely bananas. Seminal moments for Scottish rugby in an empty Stade de France. For the first time since 1999, Scotland win in France.

The forward rack up 20 phases, before Adam Hastings slings a long, looping parabola to Duhan van der Merwe who steps, and swaggers and swoops to the line. Hastings, fittingly, nails the touchline conversion.

    History made in Paris.

  16. One. More. Last. Chance.published at 80 mins

    France 23-20 Scotland

Oh my word. France steal the ball back, then almost immediately infringe! Scotland dink it into the corner. What a reprieve. What an opportunity. A 5m line-out to come. The moment of Scotland's championship?

  17. One. Last. Chancepublished at 80 mins

    France 23-20 Scotland

Penalty Scotland! They will have one last crack to steal this one. Monumental turnover from Jamie Ritchie, just inside the Scottish half.

It's a huge ask - a colossal ask - but Hogg sends them back into the French 22.

The clock is red. It's all or nothing for Scotland.

You can see the effect of having one less defender for Scotland. The defence becomes so much more passive.

  19. France rallypublished at 78 mins

    France 23-20 Scotland

The penalty count in this game must be insane. France go on the attack through Teddy Thomas down the left, then sweep the ball back to the right where Gael Fickou stabs into unguarded turf.

The chasers are offside, though, and Scotland have a penalty back where the ball was kicked. Stuart Hogg punts them into the French half once more.

Everyone - including the subs - looks utterly knackered. It's been a strength-sapping finale.

France steal the line-out and they will attack again.

  20. Ollivon to the rescuepublished at 75 mins

    France 23-20 Scotland

Massive play from Charles Ollivon, the France captain. He infiltrates the Scottish maul, cocoons the ball and wins his team a scrum.

Five minutes left. The Slam is almost certainly beyond France now, but they win a scrum penalty, and they can clear their lines as they seek the bonus-point try.
