A try from almost nothing. Good first phase and we thought Stuart Hogg would get on the end of a Finn Russell pass.

The guard comes up, completely misses Ben White.
At international level, you'll no get an easier try.
Ben White (con Finn Russell)
This game swings again!
Ben Curry rushes up to try and snaffle Ben White, but the elusive scrum-half evades the England flanker and spins himself into space.
He is too quick for the covering English defence and snipes over to drag Scotland right back into it.
Finn Russell makes it a one point game with the conversion.

It is a power game. I know England are not that much bigger than Scotland but they have chosen to play this power game. It is archetypal of Steve Borthwick. They are throwing in the little touches, we haven't seen this from England in a long time.

It's just power. Quick ball - they just go round the corner, and it's a simple pass to Genge.
The physicality of England - Scotland have got no time to get organised.
Ellis Genge (con Owen Farrell)
You don't stop Ellis Genge from there.
Alex Dombrandt makes the initial break and the white shirts flood forward. Genge carries it forward a bit further and then he is on hand to smash over two phases later.
Owen Farrell adds the extras.

England have the decision and Owen Farrell pops the ball into touch.

I think Scotland need to have some phase play here. They have been exciting and showed innovation but they have potentially been a bit wasteful.

If you are going to rate second rows usually we are talking about Maro Itoje but that is how good Ollie Chessum has been. He's the man.

Joe Marchant is sent in as a crash runner after England retain the ball at the line-out.
It's an interesting tactic, given Manu Tuilagi has not been picked for the game.

Andrew Priestley: A real ebb-and-flow to this game so far, both sides enjoying periods of dominance and pressure, before the other has hit back. A proper Test match.

Just so everyone is aware of what has just happened with Van der Merwe's try...
Just imagine you have gone to watch a school match and the ball has been kicked to the big kid on the halfway line who is bigger than everybody else.
He has just run through, side stepped a bit, fended off and scored under the posts. We see it week in week out in schools and club rugby.
It was like that with 82,000 people in the stadium at Twickenham. That was quite incredible.

Former England scrum-half likened that Duhan van der Merwe try to something off the school field.
We'll hear what he had to say over on BBC Radio 5 Live next...

When it was good, it was sensational.
We had an awful lot of kicking duels, which slowed it down, but when it came to life, it was exhilarating.
It's so tight. Scotland have been ruthless in attack - they haven't had much going on, but but every time they've done something, they've scored off it.
Defensively, they've been good, but soaking up an awful lot of pressure.
They need to get back on the front foot, and get Duhan van der Merwe on the ball - that was one of the greatest tries I've ever seen in my life.

Tremendous start to the Six Nations for England. Even when they went seven points down and maintained the style of play they wanted to. All credit to them.

Interesting enough time was up when they got the ball back. There was a debate whether they kicked it off but I admire that from England.
It's been very entertaining and England have their noses in front.
Messrs Borthwick and Townsend may have a few words for their comrades back in the changing rooms.
