It doesn't matter what regime it's under, you have to be in control of your discipline. There has to be an individual responsibility for England players no matter what regime you are in.

A great use of the advantage.
Tuipulotu puts a beautiful kick through, as he's been doing all season for Glasgow.
It's the attack from the back of the lineout that makes it. Huw Jones' deep, late run opens England up big time.
Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy.

The first phase for me is importance, Tuipulotu is integral... I think Owen Farrell went after Finn Russell he went after him early in the game. An easy try for Scotland.
Huw Jones (con Finn Russell)
There's the opening try.
Scotland go long off the line-out and then find Finn Russell in midfield. It's just a simple flat pass and Huw Jones is through a gaping hole in the English defence.
He's eventually brought down but the ball is recycled and moved wide. Sione Tuipulotu prods it through and Jones is back on his feet to latch onto the ball to dot down.
Finn Russell makes no mistake with the conversion.

The aerial ping pong continues.
Eventually England debutant Ollie Hassell-Collins decides to tuck the ball up his jumper and pin his ears back.
He is quickly tackled and penalised for holding on. Great Scottish defence.

We've seen glimpses of running from both sides, but the crowd has largely fallen flat given the main attacking approach seems to be kicks over the top from both teams so far.

Liam Donoghue: No penetration from England. Still the only offence is a kick behind. And already lots of daft penalties. New coach, same old England.
England 0-0 Scotland
A first glimpse of the Owen Farrell/Joe Marchant midfield partnership as the former feeds the latter to crash into the blue wall.
England are moving the ball quickly and looking for that dynamism they promised in attack.
Scotland standing firm for now.

Wallop.
Sione Tuipulotu is forced to take a seat on the turf as Freddie Steward introduces himself with a powerful surge.
The crowd enjoyed that one.

England 0-0 Scotland
England are on the front foot and have the chance to run the ball back at their visitors after a couple of loose Scottish kicks.
It's at the base of the ruck as the hosts look to move it wide but Jack van Poortvliet can't dig the ball out cleanly and spills it forward.
Let-off for Scotland.

A lot has been said about the boos England received after losing to South Africa here last time out.
From the noise in these opening encounters, Twickenham is firmly, firmly behind its team now.

Marcus Smith hoists the ball into the London sky and we're up and running.

The Scottish contingent sounded loud during that anthem.
Maybe that 2021 victory convinced a few more fans that it was worth the trip.

Gregor Townsend, ahead of quite possibly his last Six Nations campaign as Scotland head coach, has been talking to BBC Radio Scotland:
"We know the challenges ahead of us, and we also know the challenges of playing the first game of a tournament," he said. "Things might not click right away.
"The team that gets that cohesion, that togetherness in the first 20 minutes will be very important to the outcome.
"If we're going to have aspirations of winning this tournament, you've got to win your first game. The Calcutta Cup is the bonus if we do come away with a win.
"Ben [White] has been around the squad for a while now, and his form at London Irish has got him into this position. His competitiveness, his kicking game, his energy and his accuracy means he'll go well today.
"They'll be very clear on the game they want to play. We have to take them to places they're not comfortable and exploit any opportunities we create."

Owen Farrell obviously needed to let off a bit of steam. He walked out with a mascot but pointed her in the direction of her mark and sprinted off to the end of the pitch.
She found her spot, don't worry.
