Kyle Edmund's done the basics right in this set - he's held his serve with aplomb.

And the 22-year-old keeps it up again with a fairly routine hold.

Now he just needs to find an elusive break...

Another serving masterclass from Pospisil brings the Canadian up to 30-0.

Edmund whacks a forehand long before Pospisil finds an overhead smash to sew up another hold to love. Brutal.

If Pospisil was to lose this set it would be a huge momentum shift to Kyle Edmund. Pospisil has been on top for a long period of time and he will be thinking now this is his match to win.

Kyle Edmund watches a Pospisil shot whizz past his body and the baseline, as he moves to 40-15.

The Briton conjures up an ace and he pushes forward again in the third set.

Pospisil's serve has been a weapon. It has been a really relaxed and smooth motion. He is continually putting the pressure back on Edmund to say 'let's see what you can do then. Can you hold?'

"YES, KYLE. YES," scream the blue and red contingent in the crowd as Edmund gets a head start on a Pospisil service game.

But the Canadian worms his way back into it, as he hits a 13th ace before Edmund fails to return from another big serve.

    *Pospisil 6-4 6-1 2-3 Edmund

While Pospisil is spraying serves the right side of the tramlines, Kyle Edmund shanks a forehand miles wide. Eeesh.

The Briton recovers to move to 40-30 but double faults - for the sixth time - to take us to deuce.

But after taking the advantage, Edmund places a smart forehand into a big gap and he holds.

In a situation where something is not working Kyle Edmund isn't going to change it extremely. So it needs to start as a subtle shift in mindset where he recognises what he is doing is not working. Why doesn't he start blocking a few returns or choose to give different ball flight? Adapting and slightly changing his game is what Andy Murray is the world's best at doing - perhaps ever.

Bing, bang, bosh. Pospisil is spraying glorious serves all over the court.

Another love game for the Canadian.

Kyle Edmund, back on serve, completely over-hits a forehand down the middle and Pospisil is on the hunt for a break again.

But the Briton claws his way back to 30-30 with two fine finishes and, as Pospisil slices into the net and then into the ground, Edmund holds his serve to edge ahead in the set.

The GB fans give Kyle Edmund a rallying cry but the Briton still can't find an answer to Pospisil's game plan.

The Canadian places a lovely forehand into the corner to make it 40-15 and he overpowers Edmund with another big serve to hold.

Kyle Edmund is playing an awful match at the moment. He hasn't adjusted to speed of the court. He's gone into a shell and for an experienced player, which he is now, he should be imposing his presence on this match. He looks defeated at the moment.

    *Pospisil 6-4 6-1 0-1 Edmund

If Kyle Edmund wants to find a way back into this rubber he needs to do it now.

The Yorkshireman gets off to a good start in the third set by holding serve, as Pospisil takes a swing and hits the ball long.

For me, there is one simple tactical shift that Leon Smith can make straight away. Kyle Edmund, in own forehand corner, loves to pull the ball across to his opponent's forehand but he needs to get on Pospisil's backhand. That's his weakness and Edmund needs to get to it.

Ace, anyone? Pospisil's got stacks of them.

He launches another down court for 30-0, before placing a net volley through the middle for 40-0.

A hold to love to take the second set? Yeah, why not. He's made it look easy in the last few games.

    *Pospisil 6-4 5-1 Edmund

The 'here we go' crew are back in fine voice again, as Kyle Edmund moves to 30-0.

But he's overpowered by a Pospisil forehand, and then Edmund forces the ball into the net again.

A loose backhand from the Briton hands Pospisil another break point...and the game goes to Canada.

This is quite the walk-over at the moment...

No real surprises that Pospisil is going to the Edmund backhand on his second serve.

Edmund needs to find a solution here. If there is one question mark about his game it would be when a match goes in a particular direction he is unable to do much to turn it around.

    This is a big challenge.

    Pospisil 6-4 4-1 Edmund*

Pospisil slams an ace past Edmund with brute force.

But the Briton has his own trick up his sleeve as on the next point as, with a deft flick, he puts a winner into the corner.

But the Canadian goes on to hold again. He's now won six from seven games since his medical time-out.
